    Hi Myfathersdaughter1,

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved father.  Please accept my condolences and prayers.  As you described, there is no real way to prepare for the loss of a loved one.  I hope your family and friends bring you comfort in the days ahead.  Our community is here for you, please stay in touch.

Your other posting “if you have the time” is wonderful and touching.  Thank you for sharing these insights.

    Take care, regards, Mary

My father was also diagnosed right before Thanksgiving of 2018 and I lost him on Saturday. This is so hard. Even though I knew it was coming, there’s no way I could have prepared for this.

    Hi Sonofpatient,

Thank you for your note.  Please accept my condolences for the loss of your beloved father.  Our community is indeed special.  The circumstances that bring us together are not easy ones, but the path is smoother when we can share our journey with others.

When I was diagnosed, I was terrified and there was no good information about what to expect with this cancer.  I am thankful for every posting on this board — helping all of us learn from each other and cope with a tough diagnosis.  Your prayers are much appreciated and I hope you will stay in touch.

    Regards, Mary

    Hi everyone,

Been reading the forum here-and-there since November 2018 when my father was first diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma (day before Thanksgiving). The journey was long and tiresome and reading about others’ experiences as a caregiver helped keep me strong. After a 15-month-long battle my father passed away a few days ago.

Wanted to thank everyone on here for supporting each other, praying for each other, and loving our patients collectively. Prayers for everyone here — patients and caregivers alike.
