Liz….wonderful, wonderful news. Recovery will be gradual and each day you will gain more ground. Fingers are crossed for the pathology report (lymph nodes) to come back as squeaky clean.

    Hi All,

I’m 10 days post op. Discharged Saturday, May 2, from Columbia Pres. Ended up with a right sided resection with clean margins gained on the first go around. Awaiting results on 10 lymph nodes removed just to be sure though Dr. Kato didn’t think they looked suspicious!

It’s hard to put words around the gratitude I have for all of the people who have committed their lives to advancing positive outcomes for these rare cancers!

Thanks for all of your prayers and well wishes, they’ve meant a lot o my family and me!

    With Gratitude,
    Liz

Dear Liz, wishing you the very best in your Grand Opening. I am sure part of you is excited and the other part is a little nervous and that is normal. Prayers, good thoughts and lots of juju coming your way. You know surgery is one of our favorite words and may G-D come through the Surgeons hands!

    Hi All,

Well surgery is set for 4/24 at 730am. My husband will be posting status updates on http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/lizfinn, if anyone wants to hear sooner rather than later.
I will come back and post here as soon I’m able.

Feeling a little anxious but excited to get the little ‘beastie’ out of my body!

Praying for each of you going through this that you would experience God’s grace in personal and specific ways!

    God Bless,
    Liz

Liz….Hooray for Dr. Kato . I’m liking what I’m hearing about him. And…Hooray for you for taking this in your own hands and being proactive. Surgery is a great word here and we will be waiting to hear the update after surgery. I know what you mean about when it rains it pours. Our family been there too, in the past. It will all happen okay……just get what you need to get done…and focus on the 23rd. I’ll be saying prayers for you.

    Here’s an update.
Insurance wouldn’t ok a PET scan but Dr. Kato was ok with a CT of Chest which would be covered. Surgery is now set for 4/23. I just couldn’t get all my ducks in a row in time for 4/9.
Now I’ve got the babysitting covered for the kids and all we need is a house to rent or buy as ours just sold! When it rains it pours!

Thanks again for all you brave hearts who are such an encouragement through your posts.
