Minnie: I’m one of the persons who encouraged you to ‘go south’ and set up care for Karl in the south! So happy you took that advice, this cancer ruins enough of our plans, but it should NOT rule our lives!

Go with God, enjoy your time in the south and KEEP KICKIN’ THAT cancer!

    Minnie,
You are hereby awarded one official “atta girl” for taking charge. I left Seattle’s rain festival three weeks ago for sunny AZ and the sun seems to energize. The combination of sunshine and family will be so good for Karl.

    God Bless!

minnie….have a safe trip and the same goes for Karl. Is it a 2 hour flight from Washington to Ontario? Having your family around will better for all involved including, you. I am glad to hear that you have found a physician, who is able to take over.
    Best wishes,
    Marion

Oh, Minnie, that is wonderful news!!! You are an exceptional woman and Karl is one lucky guy to have you. Have a safe and wonderful trip! WHen you have a chance please let us know how things are going. Nothing like the California sun to perk things up.

Have a wonderful time. I wish I could go south! When I lived in South Carolina, I thought I loved snow. Now that I get it up to my hips for months at a time, I can say I hate snow. Will it still be warm enough to swim in the ocean? Take care and let us know when you get there safely.

    Hi Minnie,

I am so happy that you and Karl will be able to head south on Sunday and that you can all catch up with family members! What great news indeed! And yes you are so right in what you say about being able to take control of something and how good that is to be able to do this!

So, no more depression, get packing and I hope you snowbirds have a great time down south!!!

My best wishes to you and Karl,

    Gavin

As I wrote a few days ago, Karl has been getting so many infections that now he has to go and get an IV of antibiotics every day at the hospital for 4-6 weeks. We have been trying to get down to SO CA where his family is and I thought we would have to wait 6 more weeks, which was very depressing, but I took someone’s advice from this site and decided to take charge of the cancer instead of it taking charge of us. I found a cancer center down there and a doctor for Karl. We faxed all his records and he will start seeing the new doctor on Monday morning. My plan is to leave WA on Sunday, stop by the hospital for his IV and then start driving. In Porland, OR, I will put him on a plane to ONTario, CA and his son will pick him up Sunday night and stay with him and take him to his daily appointments until I get there by driving, about 3 days later.
Now I can start packing and no more depression. amazing how good it feels to be able to take control of something!!
