    Kate,
I love reading posts like this! It gives me hope, although I am not operable, that I, too, may eventually be able to have a yearly scan! Although I’m not sure I would know what to do with all that free time! lol
Thank you for sharing with us, and enjoy every minute of this holiday season!

    Dear Kate,
Such a fantastic post!! So very happy for your father and your family. How very blessed. And I too wish there were more positive posts like yours. Hopefully there will be in the future as more research and sharing happens. Happy holidays to you and your family too!

Katja, YIPPEE! So glad to hear about your Dad, what a wonderful way to start the Holidays. I am thinking if you could come up with what upsets him about a pizza perhaps you can modify it to fit what won’t upset him. Yeah! Lets shoot
now for the next 4 years. Thanks for checking in and giving u such good news! ALSO CONGRATULATIONS on the up coming new star in the family and I always say there is no RX better than a new Grandchild. So, so happy for all of you!

    Hi all,

It’s been a long time since I posted so i’m delighted to see Randi posting the exact same topic as me!

I just wanted to check back in and let you all know that it’s four years to the day since my Dad was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma after being jaundiced etc. He had a Whipple in January 2010 and then onto a trial -Bilcap. I still feel glad that he had the chemo arm of the trial. He is now onto yearly scans (I think) and is enjoying life as fully as possible (can’t really eat pizza very often but my mum’s constant supply of Creon is the only reminder of those tough days four years ago).

Since 2009 I’ve had two children and a third due in January-my dad is such an incredible Grandad.

I just wish there were more people who visit this site and leave with the same outcome my Dad and I have.

Love to you all and best wishes for the festive season.
    Kate
