Holly,
Sending prayers for good scan results and safe travel.
LisaDecember 25, 2012 at 11:38 pm #67702holly22aMemberHa! No baking cookies – – everyone I know has brought me delicious stuff to eat and the house is overflowing! I feel so blessed with all the love, if I’m not careful I sure could gain weight on chemo with all this good food! Thanks for all the good thoughts …. headed to nyc tomorrow, scans thursday, will post the results just as soon as I get them. Merry Christmas and a peaceful and joyful new year to all of you angels!
Because it is Christmas day, here’s a little creche scene I painted on a child’s tangram set:

MarionDecember 20, 2012 at 3:32 am #67699lindarSpectatorI’m so glad I found this board. It’s so helpful to receive support from nice people who really understand.
December 20, 2012 at 3:20 am #67698pamelaSpectatorDear Linda,
I know that waiting for results from scans is the absolute worst!! It sounds as though your husband is doing very well, so I hope his scans are great as well. Try and put it out of your mind and enjoy the holidays. I know, easier said than done. Wishing you all the best.
Love and hugs,
-PamDecember 20, 2012 at 2:44 am #67697lainySpectatorAnd for you, Holly, wishing for the same good news as Linda’s husband. Glad you are keeping busy as well, best thing to do. I hear your music and see your lights from Phoenix BUT I don’t catch the smell yet of baking cookies!
December 20, 2012 at 2:39 am #67696lainySpectatorLinda, your husband reminds me of Teddy who always used to say, “it is what it is, now lets take care of it”. I think keeping busy is a good thing for you and my prayers are that for the New Year you get good news!
December 20, 2012 at 2:31 am #67695holly22aMemberYes, it is so hard to wait! Good thing the holidays may keep you a little busier than usual and take your mind off things. I’m waiting on a scan right after Christmas, too. Anything to not dewll on it! I’m singing songs and hanging lights and generally trying to keep it together for my children. Hoping you find a bit of relaxing and that you find some distraction over the next week or so before LOTS of good news!
December 20, 2012 at 2:25 am #7770lindarSpectatorMy husband completed his fourth round of Folfirinox today so it’s now time for a scan to see whether it is having any effect. He has never had any pain or other symptoms, his liver function tests have always been fairly good, and his tumors don’t result in elevated tumor markers so we really have no idea how he is doing. His last scan was such a disappointment when it showed recurrence of intrahepatic CC ten months after what we thought was a successful resection. I’m very worried about this one but am trying not to let it ruin the holidays as we won’t learn the results until January 2. As usual, my husband is being very reasonable, saying he hopes the results will be good but, if not, we’ll figure out another course of action. By the way, he has done remarkably well in tolerating Folfirinox. It’s a tough regimen but his side effects have been very manageable and he’s still working full-time and enjoying his life.
