April 2009 is a time that I will never forget. My mom was diagnosed with this horrible disease and we all started on a mission to prove the Dr’s wrong. The roller coaster ride we’ve been on I have to say has been good at times and very horrible. Someone told me the other day that they would rather their loved ones go unexpected, quickly, instead of like this. I have to say I disagree. Knowing what the outcome of this disease would one day come to allowed us to have girl trips, slumber parties, vacation and make the best memories! Life is so busy and we all get into our routines and always think we”ll have time for that stuff, the truly important stuff, later. This had made us realize that we need to make time and take time now, not later.
This week we received the news that we have dreaded and hoped we would never hear. My mom, being the rock star that she is, has accepted it but yet continues to be positive telling me everyday that miracles do happen.
We’ve met with hospice and they will start coming to her house next week.
I would like to wish all of you a Happy 2011 and I hope that each of you have realized how important it is to make time for your loved ones now, not later. Here’s to making lots more memories in 2011!!!
PS: my two sisters, my mom and I are starting the year off with a slumber party, pedicures, manicures, and learning how to tie-dye!!
