SpectatorWhen I was in college I worked in news for a local cable station. My first interview was with Joey Ramone in Cleveland, Ohio. I was quite preppy and naive at the time. I arrived at the nightclub and sat down next to Joey. My first line was to welcome him to Cleveland, he then leaned over about an inch from my face and belched in my face…..I didn’t know what to do so I smiled and kept going. Oh the college memories!

ModeratorOften the comments to articles have some really off the wall people making comments (makes me wonder at times if it’s safe to leave the house). However, if any see articles from reputable sites where there is an opportunity to comment, may not be a bad way of getting some visibility.

SpectatorTicks me off too! This is sooooo wrong! Hope your comment clears. The truth needs to get out there.

Moderatorso sad that I read the comments on CNN that are not part of the article, but a discussion that follows from readers… I was hoping for more visibility, but I hope the comment below sinks to the bottom (It still is near top when sorted by best comments).
“Among the risk factors for the type of cancer he had (Cholangiocarcinoma) are alcoholic liver disease, or cirrhosis of the liver (obviously caused by excessive drinking); Hepatitis B (often transmitted through sexual contact or intravenous drug use) and Hepatitis C (often transmitted through intravenous drug use). So while we don’t know that any of these played a role in Tommy Ramone’s cancer, nevertheless, these risk factors are often a consequence of fast living.”
I tried to respond, but not sure if they cut it because I included link to CC site or if it is just taking a while to be cleared.
Ticks me off.

SpectatorThey say that great minds think a like and I know we have a bunch of that going on. The first article I read just said cancer but several others said bile duct or cc. I hate that anyone has to die from it but at least they were willing to tell the world what it was. Maybe it will help raise awareness.

SpectatorJust Googled Tommy Ramone Cholangiocarcinoma and am glad to report that several articles popped up, so hopefully there is some awareness out there.

SpectatorI was also planning to post this, so thanks for this Gavin. It appears it was CC. Only wish they would actually use the name and get it out there. He was the same age as Jim was when he died. So sad.

MemberGavin, I was just about to post this as well. Some of the news reports just say he died of cancer, but many say he died of bile duct cancer after treatment.
