Nodules had responded to prior chemo with Cis/Gem.
We decided with the oncologist to try FOLFOX ( I hope I have that right word)
    Thank you everyone for responding

Resistance development is common, so switching up chemos is what is usually rec. Get more opinions if you can. My sister is on her 4th type of chemo. She also had y-90 radioembolization to liver tumors which seems to have stabilized/are necrotic and she had external beam radiation to a subcutaneous and a rib bone met. Next is high frequency focused ultrasound (HIFU) to rib bone mets. Meanwhile on irinotecan for chemo. It’s hard to know which chemo will work and for how long. Side effects of low blood cell counts and neuropathy can sometimes halt, delay or reduce dosage of a specific chemo regimen. Its good to have a team of docs who work together and plan ahead for next course of action. Best to your dear wife.

My father was on gem/cis and then they found some nodules on his omentum. They continued the gem/cis then did a scan. The nodules grew and they saw others. The switched him to oxaliplatin and 5FU.

Their thought was that since some grew they were becoming resistant to the gem/cis.

jetcm……I hope that others will chime in as well. You are mentioning that lungs had improved in prior scans. Are you saying that the nodules had responded to the Gem/Cis treatment?

My wife has been receiving gem/cis since Dec. ’13
for cc and lung metastasis. Follow up scans showed good lung improvement until today when two nodules have increased in size “a little” in the lung. Yet the 7×4
    cholangiocarcinoma is unchanged.
Tomorrow we need to decide to change from gem/cis to another treatment or
continue the gem/cis due to the lung being some worse.
What to do? Will find out what else is available for treatment from oncologist.
    Has anyone had this situation?
    John
