Tumor size is only one piece of the puzzle, but not all of it. Patients can have a small tumor that goes into three lymph nodes or a large tumor that doesn’t go to the lymph nodes.

Im very interested in this topic as well.I have a 13 cm tumor, and they can’t operate because of the size of this thing. However, otger than a few bouts of adominal pain after wating a late night drunken meal, I had zero symptoms. They found it because my gut told me to fight for a ct scan. If id have went home instead that day, I probably wouldnt know anything is wrong to this day.

Thanks for the reply Julie and I hope you are doing well.

I was just about to reply saying there are many other variables as Marions has pointed out but this gives me some crumbs of hope today.

Thanks to you too Marion. All we know right now is on my ‘Introductions’ post. Any input appreciated.

IrishMac…..I have been told that location is the most important consideration, is tumor near major blood vessels and (very important) has it metastasized.

I just had a 1-1.5 cm tumor resected and they considered that still small. 20 months ago, I had a 5 cm tumor resected and that was borderline large. Bigger than that, and you get into the very large/huge catagory from what I’ve been able to tell. Anyone else have some stats on this?

Hi there. Is this significant? From what I know of TNM staging it is the first element. Is 1.27cm-1.91cm big in the grand scheme of things? Does it tell us anything about how advanced it is?
    Any advice appreciated.
Sorry this is all new to me & I’m trying to learn quickly.
