Pear Juice from the baby section in the grocery store works awesome for that bloated full feeling and relieves constipation! Tom has tried everything available, even prescription’s and nothing worked. One glass of pear juice and we was going to the bathroom, now he drinks it every day and has had no further issues with constipation!

My mom had that also, along with lots of burping. We always figured it was a combo of CC and constipation. She took colace to help, though we found fresh peaches got things moving “down below” better than anything else. Someone just recently mentioned pear juice for constipation as well.

BTW, I’ve taken ambien before with no problems, other than vivid dreams (which were kinda cool actually). I took it only when really needed – a “I must FALL asleep and STAY asleep” kind of night, maybe once every month or so. Alas, I ran out about 6 months ago.

    Hi Jenny,

This feeling that your husband is experiencing in his stomach is quite common with CC, and if you use the search function here on this website then you will find a number of discussions surrounding this issue. Indeed my dad also had issues with this as well. He used to take Lactulose first thing in the morning and last thing at night and that helped a bit with his bowel movements. I spoke with my dads specialist about this and he recommended eating foods that were easier to break down, such as minced beef, soup etc.

Hoping that your husband gets some relief from this.

My best to you and your husband,

    Gavin

Ugh! He took it about a half hour ago! Already sleeping, hopefully peacefully. Thanks though. Cathy, how long have you had this feeling? His seems to be continuous, but harder to deal with in the evening and night. Thanks again.

Jenny, be careful with ambian. I took it one time and had hallucinations, it took 48hrs to get out of my system, it was awful. I never believed any of those stories about this drug but they are true. Igot more sleep and relief with dilated. Good luck-Cathy

I was just wondering if anyone else has the uncomfortable, full, bloated feeling? My husband has had this so much lately. Just hoping there is something to do for a little relief, he’s miserable! He already takes morphine, slow release, two times daily and has been taking two dilaudid every 4 hours but still having the terrible feeling. He hasn’t been sleeping because of it, so today called our family doctor and will be trying ambian tonight, hopefully will help. Thanks, Jenny
