I’m hoping that you are one of those who get the amazing results that Keytruda appears to be giving to some-
Best wishes are with you,

May 15, 2016 at 5:19 pm #90116gavinModeratorHi Kernos,
That is great that you have started the trial and I will keep everything crossed for you on this! Please let us know how things go with it all and great as well to hear that you are educating the trainee docs on CC as well. Please let us know how that also goes!
My best to you,
Gavin

May 14, 2016 at 1:47 pm #90114lainySpectatorWONDERFUL! Kernos! It would be so exciting if you and the other patient on Keytruda could meet. There is almost no better feeling than to meet a fellow CCer to know you are not alone in this. And of course it will be amazing and awesome when we read that the Keytruda is working! Happy dance time! As always wishing you the very best!
May 14, 2016 at 12:54 pm #90113kernosMemberWell, I’ve started my keytruda trial and no adverse side effects nor any of the conditions I had to do when on chemo so that’s excellent.
Whilst receiving my first treatment I was helping some trainee doctors learn about my CC and found out there is another person with CC on the same trial, which the doctor running the trial said was very unusual as it is so rare.
Fingers crossed I last the 2 years lol

March 30, 2016 at 11:20 pm #90109kernosMemberHi Marion,
Good news today, I’ve been accepted or both trials so I need to decide by this afternoon which one I shall do.
My oncologist wants me to do the Keytruda trial which has the added bonus of being at my local hospital.
Thanks or the positive thoughts
Tony
March 26, 2016 at 12:39 am #90107marionsModeratorKernos…..not that I am advocating for it, but I want to put this out to the patient community. Regarding immunotherapy, a physician can prescribe (off-label) both monoclonal antibodies – Keytruda (pembrolizumab) and Opdivo (nivolumab.) Both agents are the same, difference is that Keytruda is undergoing clinical trials whereas Opdivo can be prescribed for any solid tumor regardless of molecular alterations.
Hang in there. I like to compare this cancer to a chronic disease with numerous treatment options.
Hugs
MarionMarch 25, 2016 at 11:18 pm #90106lainySpectatorHi, Tony and yes very important that it is contained and also that you have options for treatment.
Well, they gave it a name and quite a name it is! My husband, who was Sicilian had trouble pronouncing CC and made it his own by calling it Angelo Carcinoma. I used to laugh to myself thinking, leave it to Teddy to make it Italian! Please let us know what the Doctor says and much good luck to you. -
