Well, I started a new chemo combo yesterday of Irinotecan/Gemzar. The old stuff was working, but my doctor took pity on me and changed my medicine because it was making me so sick and nauseous for days.
The new stuff doesn’t have those effects. I got it yesterday and feel fine so far. The only thing I notice different is my mouth is really dry.
My last two CT scans in the past couple of weeks showed little to no growth in the lungs or the abdomen except for a few enlarged lymph nodes. So that is definitely something to celebrate. It will be going on three years since I was diagnosed as of August 2007. So far, so good. I told my doctor that if he gives me an inch, I’ll take a mile! Just give me a chance. He is pleased with my attitude and my overall health. Even the labs for yesterday looked good and in the normal range, praise God!
We are still waiting for summer to arrive here in the Seattle area. It’s been in the 50’s for nearly the entire month of May. I want a suntan!
Love to all,
Lisa
