Susie,
Congrats on completing the radiation. I know how relieved you must feel. Unlike asking for more chemo, I requested more radiation (it’s a long story) and was euphoric when I had my last treatment. Looking forward to hearing nothing but good scans from here.God Bless!

December 22, 2011 at 7:34 am #55879marionsModeratorSusie….Your report sounds great. Post radiation spots on the liver have been reported frequently and often times, they just sit there – they don’t grow and they don’t diminish in size.
You have all good reasons to enjoy the upcoming Holidays. Who knows? You might even outrun the dog.
All my best wishes,

I am glad you are getting your strength and energy back. You sure are one tough cookie. I am also very thankful you are here and I have you to chat with! Happy Holidays!
Love, -Pam

Have a great week!
December 21, 2011 at 7:54 pm #55876lainySpectatorDear Susie, thanks for the update and while it is not all you hoped for don’t rule out that it will get better. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and may the New Year be a better year for you!
December 21, 2011 at 7:07 pm #6103wallsm1SpectatorHello everyone!
Geez, it seems there are sooooo many people recently getting diagnosed and joining. I am happy to have them on the board but so sad that there are so many others being diagnosed.
Anyway, if you all remember, I’m 32, I had a resection, chemo, just finished radiation and got a scan that had lots of spots on it.
I met with my oncologsit, she said my scan is consistent with post radiation changes to the liver. She told me she is not worried and has seen this before. I am of course still worried but there is not much I can do at this time. My next scan will be in 2 months and my oncologist said these areas may still be there but as long as they are not growing or presenting as defined masses, I am ok. She said it would be very odd for this type of cancer to present this way. I also meet with my radiation oncologist on the 28th, so I’ll see what he has to say. My oncologist was hesitant to order the additional 3 cycles of Gem/Cis thinking it may not do me any good this far post resection and since radiation was so hard on me, she is expecting chemo to be harder this time. But after some discussion, I am trying it and will see how it goes. I can always stop if I get too sick.As for that nasty radiation, that is just an awful memory now. I am fully recovered. The reflux is gone and I can eat what I want. Lots of energy to Christmas shop, work and I even ran with my dog the other day. (Not on purpose, there was a Christmas parade going through my neighborhood which I was determined to catch up with to get some pictures) I have started lifting some small weights to try to gain back some muscle.
I wish you all a very happy and healthy holiday season! Enjoy the time with your friends and family. I am so thankful to be here and to have all of you lovely people to chat with.
Best Wishes!
