    Michelle,
This is an intense, sad and yet precious time. Hoping you have all the physical support you need so you can simply be there for your husband. May God give you the strength you need to go forward loving and caring for him.

    Dear Michele,

I am so sorry to read this. Whatever time you have together, spend it in the way you want to with him. It is incredibly hard watching somone you love go through this but I promise you will find a strength to do it.

    Dear Michele,

I am so sorry to hear what you both are going through right now. I have been there and know how it feels. No one can predict these things. What’s most important for him now is to try to keep him as comfortable and pain free as possible. My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you both.

    Love & Hugs,
    Darla

Shel…..hoping that Lainy’s suggestion works and that the hiccups can be stopped. You might also want to try a teaspoon sugar – this too has helped on occasion. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time.

Michele, I am so sorry for what you both are having to go through. You are doing a good job, please keep up your strength. Michele I believe we pick our own time as Teddy did and perhaps he is waiting for something. All you can do is give him lots of loving and keep him as comfortable as you can. We are all right with you and sending much strength to you along with a ton of hugs and love.

P.S. Teddy had hiccups after surgery that would not stop. We were told to use
BRIOSCHI Much like Alka Seltzer in a blue container and sold ovc at CS and Walgreens. It worked the first time he took it after having hiccups for 3 months straight. I have talked about it before and it has helped others.

Well since I last posted my husband has started falling a lot. He is now in a wheel chair. Since last Thursday evening he’s been running fevers during the night. He gets the chills really bad. When the fever kicks in he can’t seem to stand at all and has a grad time setting up also the confusion gets really bad.
He’s down to 118 pounds. He gets the hiccups nonstop. Sometimes they last over an hour they go away for an hour and they’re right back. This can happen with an enkarged liver. They say it presses on a nerve and it will cause the hiccups.
I feel so bad setting here watching him suffer. He looks so sad all the time. He still wants out of bed to set in his recliner which is nice.
It’s really sad how much suffering one goes through. Just don’t see the fairness in it all
As for me i am lucky if i get 2 hours a sleep a night. Always on guard making sure he’s not trying to get out of bed on his own. Or around midnight is when he will spike a fever. They have been about 102. So far Tylenol is helping break his fever. Also rotating cold wash clothes every 10 minutes helps a lot too.
Hospice told me Thursday he probably had a few days til a week left ut they said with him being so strong willed its hard to tell. He sure is a fighter.

Prayers and hugs go out to all,
    Michele
