    In 2011, The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation funded two grants through the Conquer Cancer Foundation: the Young Investigator Award and the Long Term International Fellowship Award. The Young Investigator Award was presented to Dr. Flavio Rocha, who has recently moved from the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York to the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. Dr. Rocha is using the $50,000 grant from The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation to investigate CEACAM6 as a biological marker and prognostic factor for biliary malignancy.
