Tomorrow, Friday, I finally get started on some treatment. I will start with gem/cis, 2 weeks on 1 off for 2 months then re-evaluation. It has really been a roller-coaster ride the last 6 weeks because of the difficulty in diagnosing the case. There still is no solid diagnosis, but my surgeon and myself both believe it is CC. (Adenocarcinoma cells in pancreato/biliary lymph nodes), the pancreas shows all clear in all scans, liver lesion which showed hot on P.E.T. but all other scans showing no defined tumor. The ONC wanted to chat again with the surgeon before chemo, but the surgeon was out of country for 2 weeks. He finally chatted with the backup surgeon…..and they decided all of a sudden I needed a laparoscopic surgery to get more info and samples. I was scheduled for this until the head surgeon got back into town where he put a “nix” on that and now we are back to a round of chemo first.
So, here we go finally with something.
