Everything seems to be fine now except my appetite is still lacking. The radiologist said to skip my last infuson because its too close to my PET scan on Tuesday. I’m ok with that too.

Scott….happy to hear that you are o.k. Living with cancer is what we aim for, but then there are incidences – such as the one you are describing – when we realize that certain precautions have to be taken. I love the fact that your chemo treatments and side effects are uneventful and you can go about your life in a normal way.

Wow! You’ve had a couple of rough days, but glad things have settled down and you are beginning to get back to normal, what ever that is. ;) What ever kind of immune system you have, at least it is working for you. Guess this was just a wake up call to be a little more careful. Hope things go back to uneventful. :)

    No…. l’m not talking Panthers/Cardinals.

I was supposed to do my final infusion of cycle 4 yesterday, then Monday happened. I got a call after my bloodwork on Monday that my counts were too low to get my bad medicine Tuesday, so we will check again Thursday. I was told to monitor my temp extra( something I stopped doing at all), because Im very at risk with low counts. Monday night, I get very cold then hot, temp starts rising, and then i start vomiting. I spike a fever, and to the ER I go. I got out yesterday.
I’m feeling better now, and I might actually eat a meal. In the ER, they did blood work immediately and were amazed that my blood cell counts were back up to normal. They decided to just give me IV fluids and hold off on antibiotics. By morning, my fever was down. The Docs are starting to wonder what kind of immune system works this good while battling chemo and cancer.
This was a good lession though, I’ll watch my temp and stay away from crowds. Its just that chemo has been so uneventful, that I stopped even thinking about it.
