Hi, everyone
if you are interested in Genomics , you should know what it means.
In the article of ” Integration of Genomics into Medical Practice”
Dr. Korf concluded as below.
“I do not believe that it was ever seriously proposed that sequencing the human genome would immediately transform medicine, regardless of how the enthusiasm surrounding this accomplishment was interpreted. Full implementation of genomics into medical practice will indeed be a long journey, and technological leaps, such as next generation sequencing, can quickly accelerate progress. Major changes in medical practice have already been achieved, as exemplified by cytogenomic testing and clinical exome sequencing, though these advances may not be well known to most clinicians or to the general public. “Amara’s Law” states that we tend to overestimate the pace of change in the short term and underestimate it in the long term;
I believe that this will be exactly the story of the integration of genomics into medical practice.”
