Part time work could be the answer then dboms, especially so at first if you were able to arrange that and then see how you get on with that. Sounds like the golf is indeed good therapy for you and I hope that you can get some more rounds in!

Best wishes and fingers crossed for Monday too,

    Gavin

dboms…feeling useless due to not working does not fit the criteria of this disease. Enjoy, dear dbom, whatever your heart desires and what you financially can afford.

Thanks everyone, I’m worried about stamina as we work 12 hour shifts. May be back part time. Love getting out playing golf again. It was great therapy. I would play every day if I could and we could afford it. Not a cheap sport. Fingers crossed for Monday.

Hi DBoms, WAIT! 15 holes in 100o temps. I am lucky if I went 3. Good for you. My feeling is talk with your ONC and by all means go if he says go little engine, go work. If you can do it, probably the best RX for you! And I would practice my golf if I were you so you can do the 18th hole. Just kidding…LOL!

    Hi dboms,

That’s great that your SBRT went so well and I hope that you will get the best possible results from the treatment. And of course, I wish you every success with your chemo that starts on Monday and I too hope that that goes smoothly. Please keep us informed of how it all goes.

As to your question of going back to work, that is a good one and my advice would be just to play it by ear and see how you feel. Do you feel that you could go back to work right now? Maybe see how things go with a few rounds of your chemo and see how that makes you feel afterwards? Not great advice I know but I’ve never had to make that decision! I am sure that others will be along soon with better advice soon!

Nice on on the golf as well, I’m sure that made you feel good! And if it was me playing in that heat then I think I would have folded long before the 15th hole! Think I would have been lucky to make the back 9!!

    Best wishes,

    Gavin

Hi all, well finished the five days of SRBT, went great. The radiologist said he felt “very good” about how hard he hit it. I saw the Oncologist today and the plan is to start Gen/Cis on Monday with port placement. I’m feeling pretty good except getting tired more easily. We played golf on Sunday, but I could only play 15 holes before I had to bag it…of course it was 100 degrees outside too. Anyway, Here is my question of the week. I am on short term disability at work and was wondering how to decide when to try to get back to work? I feel so useless lying around doing nothing. I want to get back to work as soon as possible.
