Lainy… My research says yes it can mets to the Kidney’s. But like some other met locations, You deal with it and certainly hope for the best. Like Marion said their is no reason not to be vigilant and do what has to be done medically. I know many of people living life just fine with bags or one kidney.
Wish only the best!
God Bless,

I remember reading about kidney involvement however, can’t recall the source as to whether it derived from the board or, it may have been discussed at a scientific symposium I had attended.
You might want to try using the search function on top of the page. Enter “kidney” and look for the thread containing any information in re: to it. Generally, you will find a sleugh of information shared by other members of this site.
Yes, Teddy has survived for 2 1/2 years, and we are so grateful for this. It should not stop him from wanting to survive more years, yet and there is a good chance for him to do so with adequate intervention to which he may respond favorably.
Hugs to Superman.
MarionsMay 2, 2008 at 7:22 pm #19963lainySpectatorThank you Marions and Jeff but have you ever heard of this type of cancer “jumping” from the bile ducts to the kidneys? Our Urologist is one of the best but I am uncomfortable with the fact that he has warned me 2 times now that Teddy survived what few do and that its been 2 1/2 years. Like, we know that, so what are you trying to tell me? Honestly the hardest thing was to tell him that he will again have a bag after having 3 before. But you can’t keep Superman down!

Following Jeff in extending my best wishes. Hoping for the kidney situation to be solved quickly however, it is wonderful hearing from you, again.
MarionsMay 1, 2008 at 10:44 pm #19961jeffgMemberHi Lainy, Nice to hear from you. Glad to hear Teddy is still swinging them clubs. Got to go eat my sloppy joes. Get that kidney tubed and back out on the golf course.
HappyPutting to you both!
Jeff G.May 1, 2008 at 9:26 pm #1221lainySpectatorHello CC Warriors! It’s been awhile. Teddy is now 75 and had his Whipple 2 1/2 years ago. Everything was going great, still working full time and golfing. Last MRI showed a blockage in his right kidney drain and the kidney is very swollen. He is going in Monday morning to have a drainage tube inserted and will wear a bag for awhile. Bags he is used to having had 3 after the Whipple. The Urologist said the blockage could be “something from the Whipple” surgery, a stone or cancer. What has me is this Urologist keeps reminding me that what Teddy survived, few do and it HAS been 1 1/2 years. Has anyone had any kind of blockage like this? Also since the Dr. made the survival remark to me twice, I am wondering what he really suspects? He is a top Urologist here but I guess his bedside manner is kind of “pissy”! Stay strong and keep up the good fight!
I am in awe of all of you! Lainy Sardina -
