OMG! As I live and breathe! BOB and DONNA! Bob I swear I was thinking about you as one of our members was thinking of seeing Dr. Koep. Thing is she thinks he only deals with surgery and she as of now is not operable. Wow, I can’t believe it’s you. HOW are you doing?
Ladies and Gentlemen this is Bob and he went to Dr. Koep here in Phoenix and a couple years before Teddy passed we had dinner with this lovely couple and just hit it right off. Now the big news is that he is in his 15th year, I think! Bob you give everyone so much hope, it can be done.
As for me I became sick with a really bad bout of Ulcerative Colitis and I am in year #2. Just started Remicade and that is really nasty stuff and mostly I am confined to the house. Dec. 6 will be 3 years that Teddy passed. He sure was a lovable character. You and Donna and Marion are the only ones that met him. He liked you guys too. So, I finally tried a Singles site for Seniors. Mostly its entertainment. Like a guy 88 comes on and uses the profile name ‘HOT David ‘ while he is holding an Oxygen tube to his nose. Finally a nice man, I hope, came aboard. He is 70 and a realtor. Tomorrow is our 2nd date. I don’t want to get married again but I miss the companionship. No I don’t compare them to Teddy, if I did that I would always be alone. Gosh I am so glad to see you here. Give Donna a kiss for me. By the way I sold the house and moved to an apartment in Gilbert but shopping now for a condo. I miss you guys do you still come here? You made my day!!!

    Lainy,
Did I read it right – you have a blind date coming up? I just had to respond. Your date will of course be smitten! Unless of course he’s a moron or in fact blind. But alas… you and I know that it will take quite a man to fill Teddy’s shoes. God bless – Donna and I send our love…

Brilliant news about Mark Kris, well chuffed for you! Hoping for the good news to continue for you with the Gem/Ox and hopefully they will get the IV started again with no problems too! My mum always has problems with cannula’s and IV’s too due to her very thin skin. Last time they mucked one up and she had a golf ball sized lump on her arm for 2 weeks, plus her whole arm was blue with bruises! Happens all the time with mum!

    Hugs,

    Gavin

Kris, I am over the moon! YEAH. HINT: before I HAVE ANY CONTRAST PUT IN TO MY VEINS I ALWAYS TELL THE TECH TO GO VERY SLOWLY or it really burns but that might help for hour hubby too. Oh, I am so happy for you both! I am going now to my GI and this 3rd infusion is a real dilly. So far 1 whole week of awful side effects. I did give my adorable Nurse, Warren a list of 15 things happening every day and he nicely told me which are side effects and which ones are allergic reactions! Now I know I am not imagining them. Shhh but I have a blind date for lunch tomorrow from the Senior site. He will take one look and take me to ER. Ha, Ha Enjoy the good news.

Well, Mark had his halfway CT scan today and it came back clean with no evidence of cancer. His CA 19-9 is still trending downwards so everything looks good. And all his other labs were good (white count normal and no anemia). It was great to have some positive news. We are continuing with current treatment of Gem/Ox every two weeks for six more doses.
The only bummer of the day was they started his IV and drew labs then sent him to do the CT scan and the tech managed to blow the IV so he has a huge lump on his arm and we are having to wait now for IV team to restart his IV. Going to be a very long day.
