Hi Phillip,
I agree with Lainy (usually do…). I am in the process of recovering for a second time from surgery done 14 years ago and redone 4 weeks ago. Like you, when the doc tells me I am doing so great I wonder than why do I feel so bad. Now that you are feeling good, don’t give it away by wondering about what you can’t control. You have no control over a recurrance – but you do control how you choose to live your life. You clearly have MUCH do be grateful for and that is where you need to focus. By the way, I have been cancer free for 14 years and I live one day at a time grateful for each day.God Bless and prayers coming your way,
bob
32coupeSpectatorJtoro,
I love your docs advice! As far as “waiting for something to happen” goes, something did happen. This morning the sun came up again and you found yourself on the right side of the grass. “This is the day the Lord hath made – I will rejoice and be glad in it”. When I completed my chemo and radiation I decided to live each day – one day at a time. It’s like a gift has been offered. Open it up and enjoy…Blessings on you!

32coupeSpectatorHi Sue,
Great news! Praying that the four turns to fourteen…God Bless!
bob32coupeSpectatorIt is with such sadness that I’ve learned of the passing of yet another good “friend” in our CC family. The last several months have been difficult. Rick’s courage and faith in the face of this evil disease were always inspiring. He is now at eternal peace in the presence of the Lover of his soul. May God bring peace to those left behind to mourn.

32coupeSpectatorRandi,
I can’t speak to your specific case but my inflammation is always caused by infection requiring antbiotics. Hope you can sort this out. Praying for continued success…Blessings!
bob32coupeSpectatorAshley,
Praying now for comfort and peace for your Momma and strength for you. What an unimaginable journey you have been on. May God be close.bob
32coupeSpectatorHi Randi,
Congrats on the good news.I like the phrase too. I’ve heard a couple of others I like: “Don’t let worry live in your head rent free” and “Worry doesn’t pay any benefits”. By the way, I have inflammation which often shows up on scans caused by infection.
God Bless!
bob32coupeSpectatorJulieanne,
I too want to extend a welcome. You will find support and information here not to be found elsewhere. I would encourage you to even in the face of a difficult prognosis, to hang onto hope. Every new day has the potential to bring reasons for hope.Grace and Peace,
bob32coupeSpectatorHi Rudy,
I want to welcome you to the CC ‘family forum’ also. If you do much reading, you will quickly realize that you are indeed one of the fortunate ones in that your tumor was operable. That is a significant factor in surviving CC. The day you recover from the surgery, you’ll think you were run over by a large truck but progress comes quickly. As far as life after the diagnosis, I chose to live my life a day at a time with a mindset that “This is the day that the Lord has made – I will rejoice and be glad in it”. I had an agreement with my Onc that he could do the worrying while I lived my life. It has served me well…
Grace and Peace to you,
bob32coupeSpectatorPeony,
Thanks! We love to hear about shrinking tumors. Take that CC! May God grant you continued success.bob
32coupeSpectatorDear Beth,
I often described Dave to my wife as the friend I had never met. Along with many others, I’ve followed your and Dave’s journey both here and on caring bridge. I feel a connection that’s difficult for me to understand. I feel loss. The Bible talks of God becoming a husband to the widows and a father to the fatherless. May God Himself make it so.

32coupeSpectatorJim,
From my experience, there is a good likelyhood that the growth is benign. During a routine CT scan several years ago there suddenly appeared “spots” in both lungs. The docs were fairly certain (80%) that these were mets and called for a biopsy. They biopsied a couple of spots in the left lung and though they didn’t have a good explanation (scar tissue?) they were in fact benign. They then wanted to biopsy spots in the right lung which I refused. Over time they gradually disappeared. Prayers coming your way for the best outcome.God Bless!

32coupeSpectatorToni Ann,
May God continue to heal your broken heart. Knowing that your mother is free from pain and in His presence is a good place to start the healing.Grace and Peace to you and your family,
