747jetmechSpectatorHello
My father has intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and started the CAAT diet about a month ago. We had his blood work done before and after he started the diet.
His blood work results have shown the numbers have dropped except for his tumor marker and bilirubin. He feels a little weak and I am not sure if that is because of his diet or the cancer.I have several questions.
1 – Since his diet was poor before he started this CAAT program, wouldn’t any healthier eating habits improve his blood work numbers?
2 – Has anyone had good results with this diet without forking over a $1000.00 for a specific amino acids?
I want to make sure that my parents are not taken for a ride. I read that some of you are drinking carrot juices and the person my parents are talking to at AP Johns are saying no, because of sugar.
Thanks
Tom
747jetmechSpectatorI guess Mayo is going thru with the Theraspere when his B.R. count drops to 2.0. He had a stent put in 3 days ago and the doctor said it should get things flowing the way it should.
My dad is on some diet which has improved some of his liver functions. I will find out exactly what he is eating and post the info here. We have before and after tests to compare.
I will post good or bad progress my dad makes thru this so it may help some of you. Thanks
Tom
747jetmechSpectatorMy father was recently diagnosed with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. Unfortunately, his bilirubin went from 2.6 to 4.7 while waiting for Mayo Clinic to gather test results, etc. 4 weeks total… I am posting this message to see if anyone feels the way I do. I feel that there are a number of facilities out there that may be interested in the business aspect, rather than trying to take a chance on people. Tried to get him into MD Anderson, they wouldn’t even look at him due to the fact his bilirubin was higher than 1.6(that is almost normal). So maybe the number 1, or number 2 hospitals dealing with CC are really weading through the tougher cases to keep their success rates high.
Just a thougt,
Lana747jetmechSpectatorThanks G
My dads tumor marker was 440 2 weeks ago and now it is 612 today. Billiruben was 3.8 and now it is 4.7.
Mayo is trying to get some sort of ok to administer this stuff asap. Thanks Again
