Thank you for your reply. I’m glad your mom is doing well with the treatment. My mom started the Y90 process in late December and she had two Y90 treatments, The last one being in February. She had an MRI of her two tumors in March and one of the tumors showed a 1cm shrinkage however the centrally located tumor had grown just slightly. The radiologist said not to worry about the centrally located one because it was the second one targeted and results generally do not show up until a few months later.
How long did it take for your mom to see the positive results of the Y90 treatment? I am praying big time that those tumors start shrinking and my mom can begin having a quality of life. She has pretty harsh reactions although she is in the fight. Today she woke up feeling ok, although pretty tired. Is there anything that helped your mom or any food that helped her? Thank you for your response, it is so helpful knowing you’re not alone.
AanaI’m so sorry you are going through this with your mom. I am an only child too and my mom has CC. I can completely understand how scary it is for you. I will say special prayers/good thoughts/sending love your way and I hope that when you get your second opinion the doctors and nurses give you good information and treat you and your mom with respect!!!
Thank you all so much for responding, it is a huge gift to have others that understand what is going on.
My mom has been on lots of pain medication and her oncologist is truly wonderful and is just being amazing through this process. She is currently on the fentyl pain patch with morphine IR for breakthrough pain. The pain management team that works with us truly listens to my mom and us.
Praying that this treatment helps and reduces the tumors so her pain is lessened. Also that we find a pain management regime that helps her. Thank you for your encouragement and own stories! They are SO helpful!!!!
