    Hi Everyone,
    January 4, 2012, I had my 3 year, cancer-free, anniversary. I can’t believe I’m still here :)

However, I am still being treated for bile duct issues. The original leak has finally been resolved – I’m down to one catheter and one bag. But now there is a collection in the caudate lobe that has to be dealt with. Yet, I’m feeling pretty good, itching is under control and I’m able to take some dog walking/pet sitting jobs again.

    hugs and kisses,
    Betsy

Lisa – so sorry to hear your news. I agree with Lainy that it is a good thing the doctors are trying a new strategy. Has Dr. Fung ever mentioned a liver transplant for you? How are you feeling?

Let me know how the surgery goes today. I’m thinking of you Lisa.

    Hi Marion,
Actually I’m going to Ft. Myers. Is Fort Lauderdale nearby? I’ve never been. I will be there 3/15 thru 3/23.

    Hi Bob,
So glad to hear from you! How are you doing? Any more cholangitis?

Can you believe it – I’m down to one tube. But you know I still go one from problem to another. The drs want to pull the last tube but are hesitating because I now have a small collection of bile in the caudate lobe. I am also trying 75mg/day of zoloft to help control pruritus.

Anyway, I am taking a trip to Ft. Myers Florida and I want to swim. Did you have any side effects from the bandage getting soaked? How many times did you swim?

Thanks everyone. Maybe my doc will have a compromise of some sort.

    Hi Pam,

I had a sore behind when I had a nasty yeast infection. My doctor recommended Balneol. Here is the link:

I loved this product. Instead of toilet paper, you can Balneol. Really so helpful.

Think of you and Lauren all the time. Tell her hello from me.

    Hi Anne,
Have you looked into regulin? It might only be IV, I’m not sure.

    Hi Lisa –
Sorry to hear of this latest development. Is this a common side effect?

    Hi LeeAnn,

I had a liver resection in 2009 and I’m still cancer-free. The oncologist said no to chemo/radiation. It’s a difficult decision to make but had I been through so much and had a difficult, complicated post-op recovery that I was relieved with the oncologist’s recommendations.

    Jtoro –
I have days when I am so down I just hide under the covers which then makes me angry because I hate feeling sorry for myself. The anger energizes me to get out of the house and find something to do that I enjoy which then makes me tired and I go back to bed and start the whole cycle over again. It’s an interesting way to time. :)

I do take anti-depressants which really help. I am sorry you are having a bad day today. I agree with Pam about the winter blahs. Do be kind to yourself – its easy to look back and think about what you might have done differently but you were making the best decisions you could based on the information you had. And who knows, you could have been tested every year and the cc still might not have shown itself until May.
