Hello Julie, how are you today? I hope your results come soon and that it is good news. It is good that you have your family, it helps if only to take your mind of worries for a while, I find getting hugs also help. My husband had the best hugs :) now I get hugs from my daughter, I also I have a chocolate Labrador who is my companion and makes me laugh and keeps me active. Grandchildren are great! I have 7 of them, although scattered across the world. 2 granddaughters in England, 1 in Maryland and 4 here in Texas (2 boys and 2 girls). My son and one daughter also live in England. I can talk to them every day through Facebook messenger so that helps as well, although I never share my worries with them. I am sort of on a wait and see stage for CC. 2 Small lesions, Gemzar chemo every 2 weeks and the hope of an ablation in January. I hope all goes well for you.
    Take care,
    Brigitte

Julie, I can understand you having a hard time with this news, specially after having CC. You Sending big hugs to you and I hope you get your results real soon. Can they rush the test? I know only too well that having cancer is such a lonely way of life even with support from family and friends.

My husband had Essential Thrombocythemia which was caused by his bone marrow not producing normal blood cells. He had to take a chemo pills every day for over 25 years. He beats the odds and lived 15 years longer than what the doctors had predicted.
Not sure if telling you that story helps at all. Keep the faith and stay strong.
    Love and hugs,
    Brigitte

Hi Julie. I am sorry to hear about your bone marrow results. I hope that is can be managed and does not tun into Leukemia. I do wonder if chemo ends up causing more problems but then not having it is not an option for a lot of us if we want to live a while longer. Stay strong Julie. xx

Texas does not allow medical marijuana but I ordered CBD Hemp oil on the internet (which is legal throughout the US, and it seems to help me when my back really hurts. I found a website which is reputable and the oil is not cheap but good. Which I could find some with some HTC in it but don’t know where to look. I don’t like taking morphine or codeine as it makes me feel drowsy and sleepy.

Hi Julia, hope results will be good for you this week. Thinking of you xx
If the tumors return after ablation, can they keep doing ablation? I am wondering why my oncologist wants to wait until January for the ablation?

Hi, thanks for the info. I think what you describe is what the doctor said. He did mention inserting a needle through the skin. Sounds like that would get rid of the tumor all together? It would be nice to be cancer free. I was cancer free after they removed the left lobe of my liver in July 2015 but then in January 2016 two small lesions showed up and chemo was prescribed which shrinkage but not this time.
    How are you doing?

Hi, I am on Gemzar only since July. I was on Gemzar/Cis. since January with shrinkage of lesions. My CC is localised to my liver only. A recurrence 6 months after the left lobe of my liver was cut out and no chemo was prescribed. I can’t help wonder if they had done chemo after surgery, would that have prevented a recurrence, which makes me wonder about my doctor and what questions I should ask him. So far, after each scan, he says that I am doing fine. My next scan is on the 18th of Oct.

Thank you for giving me hope. My CC was cut out but small cells came back 6 months later. Not spread anywhere else.On chemo since January this year. Lesions shrinking slowly. Not sure what is next on the agenda after my scan in October.

I have been on Gemzar and CIsplatin since January 2016. The side affects are mild nausea, tiredness and my hair has thinned out a bit. I am now on Gemzar alone as the lesions have shrunk. I am not taking any pain meds as not needed at this time. I do however have heartburn and my appetite is not as good as it used to be.
Wishing your mom all the very best.
