    Hi Gavin,

Thank you for the support. I called her PCP today and she said if she develops fever or abdominal pain to get her to the hospital asap. She kept down her dinner tonight but is still very tired.

ERCP moved up to Tuesday, so just need to get to that day.

    Best wishes to you.

    Thank you Marion.

I just scheduled the ERCP today. I will call tomorrow to see if they can get her in sooner.

Unfortunately, the ERCP isn’t done at our local hospital. We have to go about 80 miles to a major medical center to have this done.

Yes, if she develops a fever or is worse, I will bring her to the ER. This all just was detected Friday, so we are not even a week out. This has been brewing for awhile. Luckily she isn’t jaundice – yet. She is a well dressed 82 year old so jaundice would break her. (it is bad enough if she misses her hair appt!).

Thank you for your support. Best wishes for you.

My Mom is going in for ERCP next week. She has a “obstruction” or tumor (according to the radiologist) in the intrahepatic and extrahepatic ducts. (Common bile duct and hepatic bile duct). Her gallbladder is grossly enlarged. LFT’s all elevated. Her bili is normal (0.7) – no jaundice.

Now the question – she felt very chilled today, just didn’t feel right. Vomited again this evening. I told her to eat light, watch the fat intake. Any other suggestions? She seems to be more symptomatic, and I can’t imagine how she will be until next Thursday.

She takes a PPI inhibitor, which helps with the heartburn.

She is 82 and quite active prior to this.

Thank you all for your input and best wishes and prayers to all of you with your courageous fight.

    Hello,
My mother is 83 and just diagnosed with a bile duct tumor. She will have an ERCP next week. My question is this. She cannot go through surgery as she has extreme anemia, which she had exploratory small bowel surgery for 18 mos ago, which just show small AVM’s. However, she still has a bleed somewhere as she needs frequent monthly tranfusions. She recently just only went two weeks and needed another transfusion.
I saw another person that has a history very similar to my mothers. My Mom has glucoma, macular degeneration (wet kind) – she gets Avastin shots in her eye to keep her from going blind.

Although all this, she is very active, still drives, shops and takes care of herself.
Her symptoms started with nauseau and vomiting after eating and extreme heartburn. Her AST and ALT were extremely high (one was in the 200’s and other was in the 100’s. Her Alk Pos was 421. Her bilirubin was only 0.7 which was strange.

If it is cancer, and she can only have a stent, what does her outcome look like? It sounds like a terrible painful disease.

    Any info would be helpful!

Best to all of you in your heroic journeys,
    Lisa
