Just got a good news scan today. Diagnosed July 2010, surgery Sept. 29,2010. Will have surgery Next week to repair an incisional hernia, but compared to two years ago and what it could be, I’ll take the hernia! I am definitely blessed and owe my present situation to Dr. Choti at Johns Hopkins. He is the best. And his nurse Eden is a close second! A great team!

Here’s keeping fingers crossed for an equally good scan. The CA-19-9 is a good number and going in the right direction and in the normal range. This is such good news. Kathy

Maria. Thanks for updating us! I consider it good news that you ran that distance!!! I would consider it good news without cc. You are truly an inspiration. Please keep us posted. I will check the other site for recent news. If anyone doubts the inspiration of messages, I can give testimony that you have inspired me during this up and downhill time. I went back purposely to look for you because I remembered the words of one of your posts.

Thinking of you and hoping you are finding the right treatment to set you on the path to healing

I have only now found out about Jim’s death and am tremendously saddened. I have been away from the board fon awhile but in coming back I looked for his name because he always wrote encouragement and with helpful information. I had been wondering how he was doing. I join with others in saying that Jim was a special person who reached out to others struggling with this disease, Sharing his knowledge and his story. My sympathy to his wife and family.

It seems relatively low. But before surgery it was 88 so I never had a high number. Lisa I’ve been thinking of you so much and all you are going through with such grace. If you don’t mind I may contact you as I know you did your research. I still have your Caring bridge info and an e-mail about incisional hernias somehow a hernia has become minor.

This is such good news. Congratulations! And keep enjoying each other !

Yes. The scan is set for August 6 but the news today was very unsettling and I’m trying to get my nerves under control until then, hoping that others have experienced ups and down in the marker which don’t lead to a recurrence. As I said, I am trying to be optimistic. But am having trouble.
