Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Mom is still with us but its getting harder for her to breath. That “rattle” is just aweful. Shes so weak, her eyes are all red, swollen and she cant talk. But she does know who I am and today when she saw me she lifted up her arms and hugged me and kissed me all over my face. I layed in bed with her all day. Gosh, I know her passing will be a blessing and that she will be restored but im going to miss her so much.
Ill keep everyone posted. God Bless

fightingformomMemberWell we had the CT-Scan today and the cancer has progressed and shes no longer a candadate for chemotherapy. We were referred to hospice. She is failing and we need to get her pain under control. Hospice comes on monday to evaluate the situation. I knew this was coming but just hearing is has me thrown for a loop. I dont know what happens next with hospice, will she stay home, have to go into a hospice, how long? All these things keep playing out in my head.
Thanks for the well wishes and the prayers. Im relieved in one way that she will finally be at peace soon and with our Lord and Savior totally restored and happy but its me and my family that will just miss her. This was a hard day.
fightingformomMemberWe found out today that my mother is no longer a candadate for chemotherapy treatments as the cancer has progressed to the lungs, bones, brain.. its too far gone. Hospice comes to the house on Monday morning to evaluate the situation. I knew this was coming but just hearing it has me in a whirlwind. Im back to Nov 2009 when she was diagnosed. I thought I would be ok because I knew it was coming but im not.
My question is my mother is in a LOT of pain. Will they keep her home or allow her to go into a facility. How would that all work?
fightingformomMemberThats awesome Harmony!!!!! So happy for you…
fightingformomMemberMy mom still has the pain. She had scans done on her lower back and had compression fractures. They did some procedures on it but nothing is helping. Shes been on morphine to handle the pain but hasent gotten out of bed much since November. Shes now 107 pounds and has daily hallucinations. We go to the hospital on Friday for a CT-SCAN. I have this horrible feeling that they are going to give us bad news. Seems like shes just been on a rapid decline since she finished her radiation in September.
– I feel so bad about Kris. She was an amazing woman. So strong! God Bless her and her family at this time. She will be missed!!
fightingformomMemberTheresa – yes she has Stage 4 Bile Duct Cancer with Mets to the liver, lymph nodes and lung. And yes, she does have a stent. It is a temporary one that is replaced every three months.
