Margaret is one of the strongest women I have ever known. I have been in touch with her as soon as I met her on this site in 2010. She and I have created a bond that will last forever, even though our Marc and Tom are no longer with us!!!
I am always thinking and praying for your Margaret. Look forward to the day that you and I can meet in person! You are amazing!
I was so glad that Marc and I actually got to meet Lisa one year ago this week when we were in Seattle. She is an amazing person and will be greatly missed. Glad to know she is now hanging out with Marc in heaven. All my love and prayers to her friends and family!
Hello Lisa… You have no idea how happy Marc and I were to finally meet you in Seattle last September after our Alaskan Cruise. Marc had such an amazing time and meeting you was just the icing on cake for him. Your strength to fight this cancer gave him the will to fight it that much more!
Unfortunately I have more sad news to share even though we knew this was coming as well. I had to put down our 13 year old schnauzer this past Wednesday. We thought she was going to pass on her own this past April, but luckily she perked right back up. Plus, I do not think Marc would have been able to handle her passing very well if he was still with us. But now they are together once again. She had several health issues of her own and was suffering and I could not let her suffer any longer.
Thank you all again for your love and support!
Very beautiful Kevin!
Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you all so much for your love and support. I had a lovely call from Marc’s Oncologist. She was on vacation when he passed away and did not find out until yesterday. We talked for about 25 minutes. After working with her for a year and a half we all became really close. Kinda funny, there were times she would secretly call me to check on Marc as she knew I would tell her what was going on when he wouldn’t. I am going to do my best to stay in touch with her.
My heart reaches out to you. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Agreed Marion and thanks for your positive thoughts. Even though it is one of those times where it is kind of a downer, at least now we can get back on focus with the chemo and continuing life as normal. We are going on an Alaska Cruise in September and making big plans for the 2010 Holidays. So we are moving on!
Dr Tham said that the surgeon felt that the tumor is still to large for surgery. And come to find out, the radiologist was able to prove that the tumor is still wrapped around the blood vessels. Hence, the reason for no surgery.
At first Dr Tham was only going to administer 8 rounds of chemo. But she has now decided that Marc can do chemo indefinitely until it is not working anymore or that he starts to have extreme side affects. Luckily Marc has not gotten sick or lost any hair from chemo. Dr Tham will then consider radiation once chemo is no longer working.
And that is where we stand at this point.
Thank you all for your support and prayers!
Well, we heard from Dr. Tham and the Surgeon said no surgery. There was no explanation as Marc will continue his chemo tomorrow and will talk to Dr Tham about it in person when he goes in tomorrow morning. So the game plan now is to continue chemo and then switch to radiation once the chemo stops working.
Better safe than sorry right? All our best from Marc and I, Dianne!
Wish you all a safe trip and look forward to hearing back from you guys!
Thank you everyone! He is still scheduled for the Scan this Thursday. However, we got a letter from the VA over the weekend that his consult with Dr. Tham will not be until the following Thursday, May 13th. But that may just be the VA
Yeppers…. Marc does not get the chills as bad as he did after they got the stent in. And he has them bad!!! He still gets cold very easily. However, that could be because he is now taking a blood thinner as well for blood clots.
Thanks Gavin. Next time I guess I should just look up Wikipedia myself. Not sure why I did not think of that.
Really hope you get to feeling better Rick!
