Thank you for the prayers and kind thoughts.

Its amazing as I read these messages how they are so close to our situation. Diane will have 2-3-4 days that she is really hurting and then the next day a lot better.

Her eyes have turned yellow and skin color has changed. Her face and legs, ankles, feet are swollen. They hurt a lot also. Her stomach hurts, swollen. The hospice nurse says its could be a few weeks or longer or sooner?

    Are these things normal?

I would love have the list of things to look for towards the end.

    Thanks
    Jack

    Hi Susan,

My thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

My wife Diane has stopped chemo a few months back because the cancer is back and growing. Hospice comes out three times aweek to our home. They have done a great job of keeping her comfortable and mostly pain free or what ever that really is.

One day at a time walking with God is the best advise I can give.

Thank you everyone for this blog.

    Best Regards
    Jack

    Hello Everyone,

Its been a while and a lot has happened. Diane did do 3 weeks of chemo and she then had some major pain in her stomach . Trip to er and a scan showed the cancer was back in her liver where in was taken out by surgery and more lymth node involvement and the original nodes showed they are growing.

So of course her Doc. wanted to stop the chemo and so did she. She is now on hospice care, they are coming out 2 times a week and she is using oxygen when she needs it. The nurses are keeping her pain under controll pretty good. When she has a good day she goes hundred miles an hour! And when its a bad day or night she slows down.

This cancer is so nasty … Diane is just an amazing person to have such a calm/ peaceful atttude. We have a 18 month old grandson Luke (he is are only one) This breaks her heart knowing she wont be around for him. We both have god in our hearts and we know we will see each other again in Heaven.

We have a wonderful family and two great kids . I want to thank everyone her, ive read a lot that you have all written. and its helped me alot.
My advise is take one day at a time and have as much fun as possible and the key is to except god as your savior!

    Thank You!

    Hi Everyone,
We saw doc Tuesday and he could see she was hurting. He went over the CT scan and stated new lymth node behind stomach and the one in front of stomach about the same.

He thinks its the right time to try Chemo again, ( last time she got a severe infection ) Its been about 3 months of her feeling great. So she will start this coming Monday.

I mentioned maybe seeing another doc, My niece is a cancer nurse at Duke Hospital. She has been following every step of the way including asking her docs what they think and they have agreed with everything thats been done. Her surgeon came from Cleveland Clinic and she also checked out her Oncloigist. We just love him. Very concerned speaks on our level and is very good. I wanted to explain this little bit because I see/understand you guys recommend another opinion.

I really appreciate all of you and your support.

Julie, I’m glad you are feeling better. Your story is so close to my wife Diane’s. After her surgery taking out 40% of liver, gallbladder and lyn node. She had bad pain and they called it leaking of bile. They inserted drain , then her incision opened up and was infected, so they had to pack it. I forgot to mention they put in a stent and then took it out. She went thru a period of time after surgery like you and she fought thru too. These types of surgerys are very dificult and the location they consider dirty area. Diane is feeling pretty good now. Her results of last CT scan shows new lynth node in stomach at 1.9 . First sign of cancer moving. They stopped her chemo because she got bad infection. We see Doc. on 19th to see what is next.
    Keep fight…we are !

Thank you Gavin… it was showing that my message did not send , so I keep trying.

Marions- yes the lymph node has cancer. Today we see Oncologist and have CT scan. Hoping things still look good!
