    Patrice & Dave,

That is wonderful news. It is ironic…our insurance company would only pay for us to go to CTCA in Chicago and we live about 45 minutes from the Philly center. We have opted not to go there yet because in our particular case/kind of insurance it is considered “out of network” and a whole slue of insurance limitations set in. Please keep us all posted as to the developments and suggestions they are able to offer. Best of luck and go with God.

    Rita,

My prays are with you and your family. It is certainly sad news, but at least he is at the resting place that he wanted. Again, I have to say I am aghast at how quickly this disease takes people (I know you said he had other illnesses).

What wonderful, wonderful news! I was so excited when I read your post that I copied it and printed it out. Want to show it to our doctors on the next visit. Thank you so much for sharing!

My heart and prays go out to you and your family. We are also a relatively newly diagnosed heart broken family (October 2007). We are in the midst of searching for options. My husband refused chemo to “sustain life” and we are trying to find alternative routes and procedures. This is the only “positive” I can offer you – keep searching, do not give up and keep the faith in the Lord. I have read about several people on this site who have years of living under their belt since learning of their disease.

    Hi Dan,

I am so sorry to hear of you loss. I am also a new member with a newly diagnosed husband. As I scroll through these stories I am amazed and scared at how quickly loved ones are lost from the time of diagnoses. The original symptons that sent my husband to the doctors are no longer present. He seems in such good health (although terribly depressed)…it is hard to believe there is this horrible disease within him. I am in total agreement with you as to the wonderful knowledge that this site lends and the compassion of the people involved. I too wish the doctors were so well informed. My sympathies to you and your loved ones.

    Wishing you God’s blessings,

    Sue,
Thank you for getting back. We live in New Jersey near Philadelphia. Have been to “cancer” hospitals and they do not seem optimistic on doing any operations. His tumor is roughly 1cm larger in both directions than yours. I am constantly scouting alternatives and different facilities as going the chemo only route is not an option for him. I would sure like to hear a doctor tell him that they would take the tumor out! We have an appointment at the University of Penn coming up so we will see how that goes.

Again, many congrats to you on the wonderful news you posted.

    God’s blessings,
    Karen

Sue, It is so good to hear good news! Congratulations. As we are in the beginning of this nightmare would you mind my asking where and with whom are you being treated. I seem to run up against so many walls in trying to get my husband the treatment (other than Chemo) or trial that he needs. May God’s blessings be with you.

    Charlene,
My heart truly goes out to you and your daughter. I can so emphasize with the pain you are feeling. Take streghten in knowing and remembering the good/happy times you shared with your loved ones is what is sustaining them also. It is said the Lord will not give us more then we can handle. My prayers are with you.
