Does everyone’s legs get swollen below the knees? The doctor is not recommending a diuretic, not sure why. She has itching , not too bad but although is in stage IV, no jaundice…are there others that do not have jaundice. I feel like she is a time bomb and it is so scary, i just don’t know what to expect.

You said she has pain in her legs due to the blood clots. My mother was recently diagnosed in June 2008. She was so healthy and them one weekend, she felt terrible, confused, constipation, very tired….fianlly after extensive testing alarge malignant tumor was found on her liver but her primary was cholangiocarcinmoa cancer. We tried Gemzar twice, she got so sick, she had to take iv’s of aredia for her high calcium, has anyone else experienced high calcium with this cancer? Now she is, besides being itchy and having stomach aches, complaining about the pain in her legs. How would one know if she has blood clots, what do you do?

    Thank you

Hi. My name is Lynn and was mother was just diagniosed with cholangiocarcinoma, stage 4 in addition to having liver cancer. Prognosis not good, She is not jaundice at all. Always has some stomach aches, just recently started itching, what is that about?? She also has high calcium levels,,,which have been treated twice with aredia. She tried Gemzar twice, got so sick…the doctor felt it was hastening her death not prolonging it. I am scared, she has a lot of good days but tires easily. She is on xanax and oycodene 5/325 5 times a day but just increased to 10/325 for 2 out the 5 times. What can I expect or do for her to help her?
My prayers to all of you,

    Lynn
