Hi,
I am so glad to hear that you are recuperating from your surgical procedure. You are always in my thoughts and prayers too. We were not able to write you anymore when I got home, as my brother was weak.
Thank you so much for your advices and I shall keep in touch.
Mari
mares0311SpectatorThanks Lainy. He was a fighter throughout the end, and had not given up. You are right, he will never be forgotten. I am so blessed to have even spent a few days with him. I miss my brother so much. It seemed like he was just waiting for me.

mares0311SpectatorHello All,
Sorry for not having gone to this site for quite some time. I went home to the Philippines and spent a few days with my brother until he passed away on July 11.
I would like to say thank you for all the support and prayers that you have given us, but rest assured that my brother is resting in peace, and free of pain. My heart and prayers go out to all those afflicted with cc, I shall always be here.Mari
mares0311Spectatoragain, when there is no possibility of using a stent to drain the bile, what other options does one have?
thanks again.

mares0311SpectatorHello,
I am back again writing to you in the hope of getting some advice.
I will be leaving for Asia, to spend time with my family, most especially with my brother.
He has been taking some diuretics to relieve him of some discomfort, and fluid in his legs and feet named Lasix and Aldactone. They worked well in the beginning, but have not been doing so recently. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you so much.
Mari
mares0311Spectatorthank you. I shall.

mares0311SpectatorHello All,
I will be going home to Asia to visit my brother and family soon. Although his doctors have basically have said that not much can be done, my brother still remains hopeful with his faith much stronger. Has any one heard of instead of feeling bloated because of liquid in his stomach, its gas and discomfort? The last time, the doctors had drained out about 5 liters of fluid, but this time, there was none. Is there anything that can be done to alleviate this feeling?
My brother does not have ductal CC but the other one…hera? Can’t even remember the name…He is in stage 3b.
Also, my brothers legs and feet are swollen. He has difficulty walking because of this. Any suggestions?
Thank you all for your support and concern. My prayers and support are also with you.
Sincerely,
Mari
mares0311SpectatorThank you PCL1029. I truly appreciate this. I will forward this message to my brother so he can give us more information. My brother is 55 years old.
God bless!mares0311SpectatorSpoke with home. A stent could not be placed into my brother’s bile duct because the tumor in his liver is pressing it somehow so making it not available for accessibility. From what I understood, the tumor has to be treated first to make it smaller and hopefully allow access for the stent. It all began when he had abdominal pain and they had found a large tumor in his liver. This was treated by SERT that helped it shrink, and when they performed surgery on him hoping to resection his liver, they found other tumors making it inoperable further. This was almost 2 years ago. They started performing stem cell, radiation and chemo treatments until a month ago, he started to bloat, he had liquid in his stomach (which they drained), his legs started to swell, he started turning yellow, and he could not eat and started to lose weight. On Monday, they did an ultrasound on him to see if there was a way but the doctors concluded that there was none. They had told my family, that they could not perform the treatments until they are able to drain his bile duct. Hope that made sense. Is there any other way to dilate this passage way without using any chemo or radiation treatment?
Again, any information would definitely be appreciated. Thank you.
Mari
