    Thank you, Kris–that’s what I want too. Thanks to this regime, despite its diffficulties and the need for Miralax, lexepro, coumadin, Emend and raglan… I am now looking at clnicial trials with some hope. One at Utah does not appeal at all–exploring the max. toxicity that can be tolerated with chemo. But proton beam, cyber knife, nano knife, gene therapy are also out there.

    Can someone tell me, what is cyber knife?

    I am grateful for this discussion board with its vitality and energy and determination. Feels good to be part of it.

    A research nurse has found 3 trials so far…
    Cyberknife Radiosurgery Boost for Hilar CC (klatskin Tumor) at U.Cal, San Francisco, NCT00630890;
    and
    Definitive Chemoradiation with Gemcitabine and continuous fluorocil (5FU) followed y high dose rate bracytherapy or stereotactic bodyradiation therapy boost, this one at Utah;
    and NCT00973713, Study of Rad001 in advanced cc (I think this one has to do with gene therapy)

    I would love a break from treatment and read elsewhere in the discussion boards about the various breaks people take. I’m doing it every other week, and it is getting so that there is not one day of relief, as the chemo builds up . Right now it’s 3 a.m. and I’m between ativan pills so i feel okay. This is the whining part, yes. whine whine, someone else bring the cheese.

    Dear Kris, thanks for your encouragement and pep-talk. yes: who knows what exciting things are in store. Two weeks between treatments gives me some days of feeling close-to-normal. Those days come as a delightful surprise!

    I havefound, in keeping a daily journal, that almost every single day has some good times in it. Meanwhile I so appreciate all the fighters on this discussion board, and the information that people are willing to share so frankly and hopefully.

    I read about all of the alternative supplements people use to boost their body’s vitality, but find it too hard to sort out. A multivitamin and some extra Vitamin D 3 have been recommended and I’m taking those but other herbs, including papaya enzyme, I just don’t know. I’ll just keep reading, this site and others. Thank you.

    Elicia, you have come to the right place; this is a good site. people on this site are living, breathing, loving fighters. I want to add my voice to those saying don’t second guess yourself! It was a temptation for me, too, but led nowhere. I don’t think there’s any validity to second-guessing at all, it’s just a little mental habit that is not needed at this time! You made the best decisions you could, in the most loving way. I made the best decision I could at every step, given the advice i received and trusted. This is a difficult disease and there are lots of uncertainties, from the docs as well as the patients. Warmest wishes, Marjoriekc
