Is anyone on this trial? My mother is potentially starting this trial next week.

My mom was originally diagnosed in October 2015  with stage IV ICC (at age 77). She was on Gem/Cis for just under a year and she initially saw some shrinkage in her tumors. After a brief try with Pembrolizumab she was put on Folfirinox. She has been on this chemo for over a little over a year.  The chemo has not shrunk her tumors but has basically kept her stable.

My mom’s white blood cell counts have never been really low, but whenever they fall below the normal range she eats pomegrante, which is high in vitamin C and is supposed to help WBC count. I think mango is also supposed to be good for WBC production.

Do you have any information on the Georgetown trial for Keytruda, specifically the name of the person running it?

    Marion,

I really don’t know where the testing was done. It took almost 8 weeks to get the results. Supposedly they tested for 410 genes. BAP1 was the only gene that was listed for “Somatic Alterations in the Investigational Panel”.

There are other genes listed under a section “the following genes contain exons that have clinically validated”, but I guess they didn’t show up as being amplified.

We were disappointed given the negative association of BAP1 and lack of clinical trials, but try to stay positive since right now my mom is having a pretty good quality of life all things considered.
