I was told my Dr Stephans the radiologist that the insurance company has 10 days to respond. He says it really only takes them 2-3 days, but they stall.pak001SpectatorLisacraine
My mother is waiting for insurance approval for radiation treatment at CCF. We recently had appt with Dr. Stephans and Dr Estfan. They are planning for the IMRT radiation about 6 weeks they said along with Gemzar chemo. I just called the office friday to check if insurance approval was obtained, they’re still waiting.pak001SpectatorWe live in Parma, Ohio not too far from the Cleveland Clinic.
I’m still planning to send her records to University Hospital, Dr, Chapman (st Louis) Mayo, MD Anderson. If you can think of any others, please let me know. I figure, getting a second opinion will only give up more options.pak001SpectatorThanks for your responses. I hope the tumor responds to the treatments. The oncologist stated if the tumor mets outside the liver, she would not have qualified for the IMRT radiation therapy, only chemo. I guess God was on our side today. At least she has a better chance to beat this thing with both treatments. We’re new at this, we are trying to learn as much as we can, but it’s exhausting at times.
She is being treated at the Cleveland Clinic. Just met both the radiation and medical oncologists, by the way look too young. But they were very nice, took their time with us, explained treatments, risks, side effects, etc…
I pray to God they can help my mom.
pak001SpectatorDoesn’t mean much. My mom’s CA19-9 was LESS THAN 2! She just got diagnosed with C.C.
Her CEA was elevated in the 80’s though.pak001SpectatorHi.
It was the surgeon who told us surgery was not an option because of the location, too close to arteries/veins. He thought it may have invaded the arteries/veins.
My mom will be 72 years of age. Has been healthy since her left lobectomy 10 years ago. We’re seeing the surgeon again, I plan to ask again exactly why surgery is not an option. We’re at the Cleveland Clinic. I called Mayo, but unfortunately, they do not accept Medicare HMO insurance. It’s a shame in this country that hospitals can refuse to treat patients due to type of insurance. Money and profits greatly out weighs human life. Sad…January 11, 2012 at 10:31 pm in reply to: Radioembolization Y-90 sirspheres procedure completed #31050pak001SpectatorHow are you doing now? I hope you’re doing well. How did you tolerate the treatment?
pak001SpectatorThank you very much!!!
pak001SpectatorThanks for your response.
max suv for liver 6.1
max suv for lymph node 4.3.it appears because the biopsy came back negative, they want to perform second biopsy using either ct scan guided or laporoscopy.
The first attempt was ultrasound guided. Don’t they visualize the needle insertion into the area using ultrasound??? MD states they may have obtained the specimen from the wrong area. But if they can visualize it with ultrasound, how far off can they be???
