How wonderful to see that Linda touched so many here… she was so strong and I loved her as if she were my biological sister. The family is busy with service arrangements and Jim is overwhelmed, devastated… but doing a good job at picking up where Linda left off and being a good dad to their son, Kevin. Last night when Jim tucked him into bed, Kevin called him back for another hug… and then asked if they could do a pretend hug for Mommy… a heartbreaker.
Just so you know… and if you’re so inclined to keep us in your prayers… visitation is on Thursday and the funeral is on Friday morning. God bless you all and please keep fighting to bring an end to this despicable disease!
Love to all,
CyndipsilMemberHi all,
I wanted to get permission from my ‘SIL’ before making the connection for you… some of you may know her. She is Linda Z. of South Elgin. Her spirit is strong as is her faith. Her body is weakening. She had a rough night Saturday with a lot of pain and bowel activity, not much sleep. Yesterday, though, was a good day! Once her pain was back under control, she was able to visit with her nurse, guests and we enjoyed a family evening with a mini manicure and watched ‘Despicable Me’. She received a call from ‘Theresa in California’, a friend she’s made through this site which was very welcome! As I said above, she is staying with her mom where she can receive 24 hour care in a more quiet environment and where her brothers Doug and Dave (my husband) and the rest of us can be closer to help. Her husband Jim and her son Kevin are still in their home where Jim can get Kevin to school, is close to their beloved daycare provider, Alecia, and Jim is closer to work. They come up just about every day to spend an hour or two with Linda. For now, this is the best arrangement. She sends her love to all and once we can get wifi set up at Mom’s, she’ll be on to update you all herself.
God bless you all!
Cyndi
