no treatment today either. My white cells went down, not up. I now wait till next tuesday to start cycle 2. The good thing is, if I keep this schedule, My off week is Christmas
scott-sibleyMemberHi Cait, sorry you needed to find this site, but you are in the best place for those of us with CC.
Your story sounds just like mine. I went to the hospital Sept 7th with acute pain under my ribs the day after an huge, late night feast on some junk food. I was thinking gallbladder, but the ct scan the next day found a 13 cm mass on my liver.
I was 2 months getting the cc diagnosis, and I just finished my first cycle of chemo last week. The people on this site are the greatest. I came here feeling alone and scared. These folks made me feel welcome, and now they are a big part of my kill cancer team.
scott-sibleyMemberNo treatment for me today….my white cell count was just a bit low. That’s ok because we are firing it up Monday morning.
My nurse invited me to the cancer retreat this weekend. She thinks my attitude, perspective and how I micromanage my daily kill cancer regiment would be beneficial to the others there. She wants me to consider being a presenter if I feel like it. These are the things that make a guy feel pretty good. I’m glad I will get the opportunity to help others. I can’t make it this weekend, but that gives me a month to prepare for next month.Go Team
scott-sibleyMemberI just got a call from the hospital that my cell counts are a bit low…..just under the level they need to be to get my treatment tomorrow. I need to get them up by tomorrow morning. I need this train to keep rolling.
scott-sibleyMemberCanadian Thanksgiving was way back in October. Maybe I’ll just celebrate the US Thanksgiving as well. I dont know how I feel about standing out in the cold and snow to rotisserie another turkey though
scott-sibleyMemberAwesome news!!!!
scott-sibleyMemberI’ve been supersenitive to smells sine the 1st treatment. I just try and tune it out. I did have my first nosebleed today since I started Chemo. That was pretty intense.
scott-sibleyMemberI should say I smell an ammonia smell for those of you without cats. My wife made spaghetti tonight for supper. All her clients were saying how awesome the sauce smelled. I still smelled cat pee( ammonia). The spaghetti was awesome though.
scott-sibleyMember1 weird possible side effect I seem to have…..I think I smell cat pee everywhere I go in my house. We have cats, but everyone assures me Im crazy. I am crazy, but I smell cat pee.
Anyone else smell things that aren’t there??scott-sibleyMemberGreat News!!!!!
scott-sibleyMemberWe’ll get our surgery Rosalie, its just we are going to fight a bit harder first.
scott-sibleyMemberThey told me that I can’t have surgery either. That just made me mad and want to fight harder. The side effects drive me to prepare better, My family makes my heart grow bigger than the Grinch’s heart on Christmas Day.
This is easy, all it takes is everything we’ve got.“Don’t quit. Suffer now so that you can live the rest of your life as a champion”
– Aliscott-sibleyMemberMy truck has a bacon air freshener…..
scott-sibleyMemberI have a prescript for anti nausea, I just took one. They told me to expect the worst between my blood test day( today), and The next round(thursday). I’m not kidding either, this feeling gives me some peace of mind!!! Its working. I’ll update any changes or questions in a few hours, I want to see qhat the pill does. I’ll also try to get in the right forum.
scott-sibleyMemberI spoke too soon I think….. woke up today with a bit of nausea, indegestion/massive gas pressure, worst taste in my mouth ever…yuk. On a positive note, I guess I didnt get a dud shot.
