Thanks Lainy, Susie and Pam. The one hour infusion of Gemzar was a piece of cake compared to the all day long gem/cis infusion. Already loving that difference!

Pam, I had seen your post about Lindi Skin and ordered the balm and plan to use it diligently. I hope Lauren is having a good week.

Thank you to everyone for your response. I had my internal stent replaced Thursday. The doctor said I didn’t need 2 stents so all that worry for nothing!

Thank you Lainy and Marion. You are both so kind and caring. I am always sedated. I have never felt a thing in the past. The doctor said the pain would be caused by stretching the duct with a balloon before placing the stents. I’m really not as worried about the pain as I am about having 2 stents and wondering how common that is, but I know the doctor is one of the best so I will try to stop worrying!

    Stamatina,

Another suggestion for constipation is Miralax. Many of us use it and it is another over the counter item that can be purchased at Walgreens.

Thank you for your replies and well wishes! Yes, it was laparoscopic and I am staying home for a few days to recover.

I am having surgery the 26th to remove the ovaries and probably the uterus. It will be a laparoscopic procedure and the plan is to start back on chemo March 8. As the ovaries are the only area not responding to chemo, all the doctors believe they should come out and hopefully chemo will continue to keep the liver and lungs stable. As far as I have seen, no one on the boards has been in this situation so that is a little scary but I think it is the right decision.

My original CA 19-9 was 92; CEA 2.4

My CA 19-9 got as low as 36 the first time on chemo, went back up to the high 50’s and is now coming down again.
