    Dear Chris,
As Patty and I read your post there were tears in our eyes as we felt your pain and dispair. For you see, my dear wife, Patty went through some of the same experiences in Febuary and March of 07. You may read our posts in the “Experiences” section called “Loving each other , one day at a time”. I just want to let you know that duing this time soon after her initial surgery and the aftermath of replacing stents four times, Patty was very sedate and slept most of the time. She also kept her eyes closed a lot of the time and it would have been very easy to draw the conclusion the she was “shutting ” the world and everybody out. But, I can assure you that that was the furtherist from the truth. Now that she is home and feeling well, she looks back on the experience and relates to me that she always knew that I was there beside her and it conforted her to know that I was there, even though she could not express her feelings at the time. Gail may not be able to tell you how much it means for you to be there. Just stay by her side and love will come through. Our prayers are with you as you are going through this terrible ordeal. We are all here by your side and know your agony. Love and God Bless,
    Ted and Patty

Hi All, this is an email that was sent to all of our friends and family as an up date on Patty’s CC. It is meant for our family here on the CC website as well.

Hello to all you dear folk,
Patty and I feel that it is time to check in with you all to let you know how things are going. July marks the beginning of Patty’s sixth month since diagnosis of Cholangiocarcinoma. Our days have been filled with joy and love for each other and gratefullness for each day that the Lord gives us. At the moment, while I am writing this, Patty is playing the organ and I am just sitting here thinking how wonderful it is to have her in my life. She brings so much sunshine and emotion to each day that we have together. She is alway so cheerful and happy. Her outlook on the future is full of hope and trusting in the Lord to know that He has her life in His hands. I gain so much strength from her firm belief that, no matter what happens in her life, it is in the Lord’s hands. He knows the end from the beginning and He gives us the strength to face each day with happiness.
Last week Patty had fever for several days and of course, this made us wonder what would be next. The fever went away and now she really feels good again!! Together, we face the future with renewed hope and strength, knowing that all of you are praying for us. We look forward to going to church this coming Sabbath, if all goes well and Patty feels like going.
We have added several new additions to our email list so for their benefit, I will include the link to our story that is on the cholangio website. We gain so much insight from being part of the “family” on that website. Everyone on the site either has cholangio or has a family that has it. It is a very rare cancer and most everyone has not even heard of cholangiocarcinoma. These dear folk come from all parts of the world to write in about their treatments and fears and sorrows and struggles with this awful desease. So please read this site if you have a desire to learn more about cholangiocarcinoma.
Again, thank you all for your support and love and prayers.
    Love and God Bless,
    Ted and Patty

    Dear JeffG,
Patty and I had tears as we read your poem that you posted for Alan’s mom. We too believe in the “Big Picture”. Our lives here are but a speck in time compared to the eternal life that we know awaits us with our loved ones. Thank you for reminding us.

    Dear Paula,
First of all, we want you to know that we are so sorry that your dad and your family is having to go through this terrible experience.
Patty is 61 years old. On Feb 21, Patty had the surgery to attempt the resection and it was not successful. I remember clearly that Dr. Rosemurgy, the surgeon, came out to tell me after the surgery that Patty would only have 3 to 6 months to live. I asked him about chemo and radiation and he said that the chemo might extend her life for a few months but Patty had to choose whither she wanted quantity or quality of life. We were visited by a oncologist and he described the chemo and what to expect. Patty decided, and I agreed, that she desired to live our her remaining time with as much quality as possible and just pray for a miracle and use as much supplements as we could discover that might help. We both know that the immune system is the heart of healing and if it can be boosted high enough, there is a possibility of overcoming any cancer. First of all, Patty drinks about 20 ounces of fresh carrot juice a day. We have res earched several supplements on line and decided on IP-6 and AHCC as the ones that looked like they had success on others with cancer. As we mentioned on the posts, there were other supplements that she takes also, including Shitaki mushroom and Reishi mushroom extract.
The decision to go or not to go with chemo and radiation is a very personal choice and we can only tell you what Patty decided to do. Her lab work has improved over the last few months and she feels good and there is no nausea or pain. She is leading an active life. Her quality of life is very good. We read all the posts and how some of the people with cc have extended their life with chemo but we also read how they suffer and believe that Patty made the right decision. We know that we are in God’s hands and we leave it all up to HIm to guide us. We pray that your dad will know that what ever decision he makes, that it will be the Lord’s leading in his life. Please know that we are praying for him and his family.
    God Bless you,
    Ted and Patty

    Dear LD
As Patty and I read your post, it brings back the memories of our nightmare that started about the same time as your husband. started showing his symptoms. My dear beautiful wife, Patty, was diagnosed in feb. 07. Please read our story in the “experiences” section. Patty’s cc was also unresectable and we were told that chemo might help some but not to expect much from it. Patty decided (and I agreed) that she would have no chemo or radiaiton. After several stays in Tampa General hospital in Tampa Florida to insert stents, they were finally able to place the internal stents and we came home. Since that time her health has steadily improved and her lab work is all improving. Her CA19-9 came down some this last month. She feels well and has regained her weight. I tell you this to maybe share with you some of the alternative treatment that she is doing. She drinks 20 ounces of fresh carrot juice a day and takes IP-6 and AHCC in large amounts. She also takes Shitake mushroom and Reishi mushroom extract. She eats no animal products and eats fresh whole foods. Please know that we share in your pain and distress and we will pray for your husband’s recovery. We trust heavily in Prayer and the Lord’s divine leading.

    Peter,
Is the Lentinen injections the same as AHCC ( Active Hectose corrilated compound)? Patty will be starting on that today. (3gms/day). She has had no chemo or radiation since her diagnosis and Feb 07. Her tumor was unresectable. She has been on IP-6 and lots of carrot juice and shitake and reishi mushroom extract. She feels well and has energy and has gained 25 lbs since her surgery. Her appetite is really good. You are one of our “hero’s” here on the cc website. Everyone has become our “family” . Best to you all.

    Dear Jean,
Patty and I are so sorry to hear of your husband’s death. Please accept our condolences. We read every post and find comfort and support from them. We rejoice when there is a good report and we cry with you when there is sadness. Like your husband, Patty had had no chemo or radiation. She was diagnosed with cc in Feburary of 2007. Her tumor was unresectable. I thought I was going to lose my dear Patty several times during her recuperation from the surgeries she went through. Your can read our complete story on the “Experiences” forum. I am happy to report that, for the last two months, Patty had been experiencing wonderful health and good appetite. She is on a lot of supplements but no chemo or radiaiton. We feel that we have had help from the Lord in this time of good health. We know that things could change at anytime and we are taking it one day at a time. We are Christians and love our Lord and Saviour and know that we will see our loved ones again someday when God puts and end to all this suffering and we will live throughout eternity with Him and our loved ones. Jean, take heart, you will see your husband again. Patty and I cling to that hope everyday and is such a comfort to us. We hurt with you at your loss but take heart.

Jean, regarding your question as to where I get Patty’s supplements, The health food store here carries all the supplements but I have searched on line and found that the prices are about half what they are in the healthfood store. I get organic California juice carrots at Publix grocery store. They have tham in 25 pound bags. I am including a website where I get my supplements now.

    http://www.vitacost.com/Enzymatic-Therapy-Cell-Forte-with-IP-6-Inositol

You can get the IP-6 in tablet form or capsule form or powder.
I am trying other brands of IP-6 also. The research Doctor/professor that has done the 20 years of research on it recommends at least 5 grams of IP-6 twice a day. There are no known side effects to it so it can be taken in even greater quantities. Hope this helps. Our prayers are with you.

    My dear friend,
I know you need support during this terrible time and that is why I am writing this to you. My heart goes out to you with tears in my eyes as I read your post. I know what you are going through because my dear beautiful wife, Patty, has gone through some of the same experiences that Bob is going through. The infected drains and fevers and nausea and weakness. Patty and I find strength in turning to God. We know that, at a time, it is the only place we can turn to. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring but we DO know that God is in control of our lives and His will be done. Patty is feeling well right now and the internal stent seems to be working well. She has an appetite and no nausea or fever. She is gaining weight. She has refused all chemo and radiation. She is on a alternative program of treatment. The heart of the treatment is IP-6. She also drinks a lot of fresh carrot juice and takes several other supplements. We have a lot of dear friends and loved ones praying for Patty and Patty and I add our prayers. Please know that we are praying for Bob also. And also please know that our hearts go out to you during this time. We know, We are there also.

    Hello Ak
MY Wife Patty was diagnosed in Feb. 07 and had unresectable surgery. She dicided to not have any chemo or radiation. We have read so much about the terrible side effects. I agreed with her and we are trying several alternative treatments. We have heard a lot of good things about IP-6 and she is also using Par de’ arco and chapperell and red clover and Milk thistle. She takes 10 grams of IP-6 a day. She recovered from her surgery and is feeling better each day. She also drinks 20 ounces of fresh carrot juice morning and evening. She had external drains to relieve the pressure of the bile. After four trys over a period of two month, they finally were able to insert an internal drain and she is improving in strength and getting her appitite back. Her bilirubin has returned to normal. We believe in prayer and lean heavely on our Lord and Saviour for strength and healing if it is HIs will. We live one day at a time and understand what you are going through. Our prayers are with you and all going through the awful desease.

Charlene, was your dad’s tumor resectable? And did he have any chemo or radiation? We read the info on the CAAT website. It is very interesting. It sure is expensive though.

    Dear Charlene,
Thanks so much for the information on CAAT. We had not heard of it before and will study into it more. The fact that your father is surviving this awful cancer, since 2005 speaks for the treatment that he has had. We hope and pray that he continues the success that he has had. Thanks again for the website.

    Dear Mary,
It is wonderful to read that you are trying alternative medicine. My Wife, Patty, was diagnosed with CC in early Feburary of this year. Her surgery to attempt a resection was not successful and she has decided against all chemo and radiation. We are trying megadosis of IP-6. She now has no more nausea, fever or pain and is feeling great. Her strength and weight is returning. We have hope that the IP-6 is helping slow the growth of the tumor. We would like to hear of others that are trying this alternative nutritional supplement. She is also drinking lots of fresh csrrot juice. A lot of dear folk are praying along with us for Patty’s healing. Our prayers are with you and all the others that are fighting this dreadful desease.
    Ted
