Lana was a wife, mom, and grandma who loved her family more than anything. She lost her 16-month battle with Cholangiocarcinoma on September 18, 2016. After diagnosis, she began a trial at MD Anderson in Houston, TX under the care of Dr. Shroff. Her tumors were shrinking, but she started to get fluid build-up in her abdomen, so she was removed from the trial. After another short, unsuccessful trial, we decided to seek treatment closer to home in Nebraska. She was in and out of the hospital, not able to keep food down, and was still struggling with the fluid in her abdomen so she opted for no further treatment. She spent the rest of her days at home with in-home nursing care surrounded by her family. She will forever be missed.
