Finding Hope Through Connection

A cholangiocarcinoma diagnosis can feel overwhelming, not just for patients but also for their caregivers. Navigating treatment decisions, emotional challenges, and the uncertainty of the journey ahead can be incredibly difficult. That’s why the CholangioConnect program exists—to ensure that no one has to go through it alone.

CholangioConnect is a peer-to-peer mentoring program that connects patients and caregivers with mentors who have firsthand experience with cholangiocarcinoma. These mentors offer guidance, emotional support, and a sense of community to those who need it most. Whether someone is newly diagnosed, facing a recurrence, or caring for a loved one, CholangioConnect provides a trusted resource to help them navigate the journey ahead.

For many, this connection becomes a lifeline. One mentor, Sandra Fiadino, shares:

“After the losing my husband to Cholangiocarcinoma, I felt compelled to help other caregivers deal with the emotions and uncertainty of this disease. My experience has been a positive one—from corresponding with the wonderful people at the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation to getting to know my mentees and offering them support and hope. I am grateful to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation for the opportunity to support others while honoring my husband’s memory. They truly care about their cause. The support, assistance, and education they provide to patients and caregivers is priceless.”

By fostering these meaningful relationships, CholangioConnect helps individuals find hope, strength, and reassurance in knowing that they are not alone.

If you or someone you love is facing cholangiocarcinoma, consider joining CholangioConnect—whether as a mentee seeking support or as a mentor ready to give back. Learn more about how to get involved here.
