Communications Director, Stansbury Park, Utah
Rick grew up in Ogden, Utah and attended the University of Utah earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication. Rick was the Promotions and Marketing Director for a popular Salt Lake City radio station before taking a job with the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.
In 2005, Rick’s brother-in-law, Mark, was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma. His sister-in-law, Stacie Lindsey tirelessly searched the internet for information, there just wasn’t much available. The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation was founded in 2006 and Rick setup cholangiocarcinoma.org as just a simple discussion board.
Rick was elected to serve on the North Tooele Fire District, and serves on the board for the Plan-B Theatre Company. He’s also volunteered for Different=Amazing, and the Weber Morgan Childrens’ Justice Center. He and his wife Amy have one son, Stone, who has volunteered at the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation’s Annual Conference.
