No…. l’m not talking Panthers/Cardinals.
I was supposed to do my final infusion of cycle 4 yesterday, then Monday happened. I got a call after my bloodwork on Monday that my counts were too low to get my bad medicine Tuesday, so we will check again Thursday. I was told to monitor my temp extra( something I stopped doing at all), because Im very at risk with low counts. Monday night, I get very cold then hot, temp starts rising, and then i start vomiting. I spike a fever, and to the ER I go. I got out yesterday.
I’m feeling better now, and I might actually eat a meal. In the ER, they did blood work immediately and were amazed that my blood cell counts were back up to normal. They decided to just give me IV fluids and hold off on antibiotics. By morning, my fever was down. The Docs are starting to wonder what kind of immune system works this good while battling chemo and cancer.
This was a good lession though, I’ll watch my temp and stay away from crowds. Its just that chemo has been so uneventful, that I stopped even thinking about it.
