April 20, 2010 at 9:40 pm #37286betsy-kubbinsSpectatorHi Kris,
I agree with you that the hospital is no place to rest and recover. Its always so wonderful to get home and sleep in my own bed. At the Cleveland Clinic, the day starts at about 5:30am with blood work and then the doctors start their rounds. I’m still on hospital time and find myself waking up at 5am most mornings. I’m so happy when I remember I’m back home and I can roll over, snuggle up with my dog and go back to sleepBetsy
April 20, 2010 at 9:09 pm #37285devoncatSpectatorThanks everyone. It is so good to be home. It is so much easier to get healthy and regain strength when you are in control of food and drink and you arent being woken up all the time by well meaning doctors, nurses, dieticians, psychologists and physical therapists. They REALLY throw everything at you in Swedish hospitals.
Kitties are home and it is great. I think they have a 6th sense and are being really good about not stepping on my incision when they are climbing all over me.
Hans and I try to make a point to go do something everyday so I get out and get some exercise but missed it today since I am not quite up to snuff. I cant wait for the queasiness to go. I think it is reminder that my stomach is still so SLOW at digestion.
I found out something new this time in the hospital. Laying on your right side speeds up digestion. Who knew?

What great news! I’m so glad you’re home!
I’m picturing you lazing in the pool, chowing down on the good stuff, attentive Hans at your beck and call, and the kitties watching from the pool deck.
We missed you so much but Hans was soooo good at keeping alll of us in the loop!
Hugs to you both!

April 17, 2010 at 1:10 pm #37279kristinSpectatorYayyyyy! I’m so glad you’re home again! You’ll recover ten times faster than in the hospital– especially with all the purr therapy.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery–
Kristin
April 17, 2010 at 4:12 am #37278jamie-dMemberKris I am so glad that you are finally able to come home. Enjoy your kitties on Sunday when they come home. One of mine (16# fatty) loves to cuddle. I cant sit down without him jumping up on me. Only bad thing is when he steps on my side. Ouch!! Hopefully yours will be more gentle with you Take care and God Bless,
JamieApril 17, 2010 at 2:43 am #37277linda-zSpectatorKris,
The pool sounds wonderful right now! AND all the fat and protein you want to eat too? Terrific. Just the thing to build your strength and energy back up. At least it sounds like a fun way to do it.
Take care….lots of prayers going to you and Hans. (Way to go Hans on taking care of Kris….do you give lessons to other caregivers? My husband could stand to learn a little!)
Take care all…cats too. I bet they really miss you.

Glad to hear you are home. You’ve been in my prayers. I hope you can rest comfortably at home and that radiation coming up soon will be just the magic that you need.
