Hi Celoi,
Have been following your Dad’s blog and sorry tohear he has been having trouble recently. Hope the new drain and antibiotics do the trick along with lots of prayers coming your way. Mary AnneOctober 22, 2007 at 1:18 pm #16941colleenSpectatorCeloi – I hope your dad continues to improve. I thinik we are both going through a similar situation right now. My husband was in the hospital last week for what we thought would be a simple stent change, instead it turns out he has a LARGE abscess and MAJOR infection in his liver. His doctore say that it is really bad and for the first time have told me they are not sure he will be able to pull through this. He is at home now on IV antibiotics and has a home healthcare nurse coming to check on him, although they feel my husbands abscess is a complication from his last chemoembolization, was wondering what the doctors have told you about your dads infection and if he also had an abscess. – Colleen
Has anyone else experienced anything like this????? I am terrified any advice would be appreciated.

Sending love to you and your Dad and family.October 7, 2007 at 2:00 am #16933celoiSpectatorHello all,
My father came home last Tuesday. He has 3rd drain to take infection from outside of the liver area. He is taking 2 different antibotics 2 times a day. He is eating small portions at a time.
Overall, he feel good sometimes and bad at others. However, very tired more than often. I guess the infection just have to be totally clear from his system before he can be back to par.Thank everyone for your concern and support. I tell him often of everyone thats asking about him and his well being; for that we are truly thankful.

September 27, 2007 at 12:52 am #16930celoiSpectatorHello everyone.
Yesterday, they inserted another hole in his abdomen, directly into the liver to get fluid/infection drained out. He was in such terrible pain. Today, his pain has subsided but he is resting better. He still not able to move too much, but overall, he has improved.Celoi
September 25, 2007 at 4:23 pm #16929celoiSpectatorHello everyone,
Thank you so much for your care and support.
My dad has been on antibodies (sp unsure) for 2 days…they well do surgery this after noon to drain fluid near / around liver. I have this relieve the pain he has had.
He had fever last Thursday and Friday, and no fever since that time.
I will post an update after his surgery today to drain fluid. He wasn’t having all this pain, until they changed the stents on Friday. Maybe someting is also ‘out of place”?

I”m sure your Dad will be fine, he’s a fighter and these stent problems happen. My husband has gone through the fever and shakes too and it is very scary. They always seem to get the antibiotics in him and get him over it so I hope they are doing the same for your Dad. Keep us posted. Our prayers are with your Dad and your family. Take care. Mary -
