    Hi Mary,

Yep, brain mets are quite rare as you say with CC thankfully but they do unfortunately happen sometimes as we know. I put brain mets in the header to this posting so that hopefully if someone is searching the boards for info on brain mets then this post will come up easily with having that info in the post header.

Thanks for the info that you posted and I so agree with all of what you say. Couldn’t agree more with you with what you say about people not worrying about being seen as a hypochondriac. If you are even remotely worried about this then go see your med team asap!

    Thanks Mary!

    Gavin,

Thanks for posting this.  On this board over 10+ years, we have had maybe 6-8 reports of folks with brain mets.  Melinda noted in a post she has come across a few additional cases in her interactions.  So it is thankfully a rare location for a CCA met to turn up.  Since the brain is not routinely scanned for CCA patients, a brain met will likely only be looked for if the patient reports symptoms that point to the brain.

Again, this is a reminder to all of us to report any new symptoms to our doctors should they turn up.  Don’t worry about seeming to be a hypochondriac.  While many potential CCA metastasis sites are pretty rare and unusual, it is still best to check out new symptoms such as the unexplained headaches mentioned in this article.

    Regards, Mary
