    Lisa,

    I am Patty from Chicago and I am so sorry to hear about your mother, this disease seems to take over the body so quickly and even when there is some time, it is never enough. It seems like the time you are given, you are trying to figure out what this disease is and before you can get your wits about you, it has already stolen from you.

    I am not sure where in the Chicago area you are but if you would like some in person support from someone who is going through the same thing, just let me know, maybe we can meet for coffee.

    I am also sorry because I only saw today that you responded to my introduction and were looking for doctor recommendations in the Chicago area and now it is too late, though I see you brought your mom to Mayo and I was regretting that we did not try that.

    Lisa, my condolescences on your loss. It is devasting. My prayer is that with sites like this that we will eventually have a cure for this awful disease. My God bless you and your family and provide you with the strength to deal with your sadness

    I am so sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing. Try to take comfort in knowing there is no more pain and suffering and that she is in a much better place. I know there is a big empty space in your heart that time will eventually heal. God bless you and give you comfort.

    I want to inform everyone that my mom passed away from this horrible disease on 7/4. I can’t believe she is gone. The last two weeks were so unexpected. She was not doing well but still walking and trying to eat. I took her on 6/25 for a routine procedure to have her biliary tube changed out. They gave her too much sedation which put her in the ER with a 104 temp. She now had a horrible infection she just couldn’t fight off. None of her levels were improving in the ICU so they suggested hospice right away. Hospice was amazing. My mom just slowly deteriorated in the hospital and passed on Friday.

    I just want to say thank you for this site and everyone’s thoughts and prayers. My mom was an amazing teacher and touched the lives of many children especially her own. She will be so missed.
