Pamela….outch. I am sure that others will come along and share their thoughts with you, but I wanted to tell you that I am a big proponent of Penaten Creme. It has been used for Babys for over 100 years (in Germany) and contains:
Medicinal Ingredients: hamamelis extract .527%, zinc oxide 18.724%
Non-medicinal Ingredients: panthenol 1.055%, allatonin 0.211%, cetylpyridinium chloride 0.106% in Penaten Cream base.
It forms a barrier and heals irritation. In fact I use it during cold season quite a bit. Sure everyone walks around with a white mustache as I rub the cream right below the nostrils, but it works due to the zinc oxyde.

Desitin may also work, but it smells funny and it does not have the consistency of Penaten Creme. And, no I am not being paid for advertising.
Shame on the nurses for making this a laughing matter – pain is pain, no matter what the cause. I don’t find anything funny here.
Sorry I am a bit irritated.
Hope for Lauren to find relief quickly.
    Hugs and love,
    Marion

    Hi Everyone,

Has anyone ever experienced diarrhea after chemo? Lauren had cramps and diarrhea on Thurs. all the way up until today. It has slowly been getting less frequent as the days go by. She called her doctor’s office today to speak to a nurse and they had a good laugh about Lauren having a sore behind. It isn’t really a laughing matter when you’re in such pain. The nurse said it is a cumulative effect of chemo and told her what she should do and when to call them if things get worse. I am just wondering if anyone has a miracle cream or salve they can recommend. We are going to a medical supply store tomorrow to look for a sitz bath. We really have a new found sympathy for people with bowel problems. So painful. Thanks in advance for any advice!! Love to all of you.

    -Pam
